We've spent ~$100k on GMV Max, and here's why media buyers will not lose their jobs... yet: For those of you who don't know, GMV Max is a new TikTok Shop project that automates media buying. All you need to do is set an ROI, feed it with Spark Codes, and it will test all the creatives against each other. Pros: - The only scalable solution to media buying when handling thousands of affiliate videos at once - Really easy to set up - Will only spend when it can get the target ROI - Constantly tests creatives and will choose the best ones Cons: - Very little information on which videos are getting the spend. This becomes problematic when you want to create a feedback loop and better understand which videos perform best in ads. - No control over which videos get the spend. If the algorithm doesn't like a video, it won't spend. This becomes problematic when you want to test specific angles or creators, and you have no control. - It's a black box and will leave you in a vulnerable spot where you don't know what's working and what's not. GMV Max is only open to beta testers, so a lot of these features will change once it goes live. I think the future is bright, and it's the only solution to testing thousands of creatives at once. Thinking about hosting a Space next week to chat about GMV Max. Anyone interested? Let me know!
