Diversity is the key to success

“You shouldn’t be so harsh!” “You were so nice, they didn’t get your point!” “Stop being so angry.” “What about reverse discrimination?” “ You were an apologist!” “If you weren’t so mean, I’d want to listen.” There is always some excuse given as to why we “white” folks refused to listen to the truth about our own behavior. Each one of us “white” people respond differently and learn differently. As a special education teacher, I can attest to this. It is important that we hear the same anti-racist ideology in many different different ways. But they’re all the same message. Some people respond to kindness others respond to harshness, and most people are somewhere in between. About 20 years ago, I was told that the only way to get “white” people to understand is to bite their heads off and leave them in shock. I was told I didn’t present anti-racism with urgency and power I was being an apologist. “White” folks who want to learn and be part of the solution instead of the problem need to find way to join the steep, lifelong anti-racism continuum. Not every racist educator will suit your needs, but there is someone out there for you probably more than one. The best thing of a “white” person can do who wants to learn is to listen to Black people when they speak. Take to heart what the have to say! Believe them. Empathize and then do it again and again and again. LISTEN TO BLACK PEOPLE WHEN THEY SPEAK. Black people in the United States live this every day. There is no one who knows better about how to solve the problems (caused by the “white” community) that face the Black community today. It is imperative that we “white” folks stop scrutinizing the tone or the manner of the communication and start listening to the content!! We must do introspection and educate ourselves so we stop perpetuating system systemic racism. We don’t do this to be heroes or saviors or to get our picture on social media. We do it because it’s the right way to act human and we too will benefit from it greatly in the long run. It is way past time, “white” people take racial, responsibility and unite with Black, brown, Indigenous people, etc. and help to dismantle the system of oppression that people who look like us started and people who look like us benefit from!

It’s easier to blame a black person. This is very problematic. I am not talking about Oja shutting down operations. No. I’m talking about how the UK media have found another way to paint Raheem Sterling in a negative light. What has he done to deserve this, you ask? → Inspire young black boys → Be an upstanding role model → Actively support his community → Invest in black-owned businesses → And so many more positive things! Yet his name is all over the articles and headlines for this recent event. Almost as if he was the sole reason the company went into administration. He was a *minority* shareholder amongst several investors. Why aren’t the big VCs that are supposed to be accountable not getting this much attention? I will tell you why. It’s easier to blame a black person. That’s the UK media for you. Now I understand why many prominent black figures are deterred from doing stuff for the community when there is a high likelihood it will be thrown back in their face. These media outlets need to start getting called out on their bullshit. Because damaging narratives like these not only impact the individuals in question but have a knock-on effect on communities and, subsequently, generations.

Israel, Palestine, and Black Lives Matter. Black America, stay home and mind your own business: looting, gun violence, and Black Lives Matter should be our focus.. Top officials are being brought down by the very people who funded them. Black America we need to find a solution to the war within our own so-called community. All the stores are closing, mom-and-pop stores closing everywhere except in the so-called black community. 90 percent of the stores are not black-owned. When grassroot movements become mainstream they become puppets for big business

DO BLACK LIVES REALLY MATTER? Conflicts involving Black people don't receive the attention they deserve. The media often focuses on wars in Ukraine and Gaza, but conflicts affecting Black communities receive little to no coverage. Take Sudan, for example. The country has been at war for years and is on the brink of collapse. This crisis will cause multitudes, including children, to suffer from starvation. Despite this, there is no outcry from the media or African Diaspora. Why are African Americans crying out for Palestinians but not for Blavks in Sudan? Other African countries like Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, and South Sudan are also experiencing conflicts without any attention from the media or outraged African Americans. It's time to ask ourselves: do Black lives really matter?

Why It Matters

The information provided by the DOJ is incredibly insightful. The governments perspective of Black people is blatant, audacious, and utterly egregious. God's people are not commodities of the state or the government's domestic service animals. Black people are enslaved to create government jobs. Children are stolen for lineage incorporation, depriving a people of their lives and obligating the lives of their children generation after generation. Reproduction, family, life, liberty, and property are controlled. The US department of JUSTICE believes the main goals of the BLACK LIBERATION ARMY is to kill police and financial EXTORTION. Why is it not that the purpose of the group is to liberate and uplift black people? People that are treated as less than animals in the land of the free? The US doesn't hold the same perspective of the People's Liberation Army of China. May God be with the governing powers of the world. Just because Nations have power does not mean that they are moral or ethical.

Several calls to action on this platform: pay attention to what’s going on in Palestine, acknowledge and address workplace harms in light of the death of Dr. Candia-Bailey, and highlight all that Dr. MLK Jr. was about not just the palatable soundbites. I’d like to add one: do your due diligence! I went to MLK events all weekend and was delighted to see the turnout and hear from great speakers. Imagine my surprise when an organization that I know does not support the advancement of Black people was present front and center with a full setup of handouts and pins. Y’all know I had to say something, what made you attend today’s event and can you explain more about what you’re promoting. I was told they represented the Black arm and interests of the org and that they want to rid Black people of the “v*ctimhood mentality”. I need us to read between the lines of these handouts and websites, ask deeper questions, and vet organizations that want to have the attention of Black audiences, especially this year!
