This was the theme of the Salem Public Schools 2024 Leadership Institute, completed on Thursday. It is merely late June, but each of us left equipped with a blueprint for the 2024-25 academic year. Empowering Educators: Preparation for the 2024-25 academic year has already begun. Day 1 of the Salem Public Schools Summer 2024 #Leadership Institute is a wrap as our school leadership is preparing and fine-tuning goals while the previous academic year is still fresh of mind. Today's sessions resulted in uber-focused collaboration and conversation of desired outcomes (with a little 'musical cup' after lunch). Kudos to all who attended and those who facilitated. Some bittersweet moments at tonight's School Committee meeting. Not all of them could be in attendance, but a wonderful group of educators -- combining 463 years of service -- is retiring from Salem Public Schools this week. We are also going to miss our graduated student representative Natalia Feliz, who has faithfully served the school committee and will bring her talents to University of Massachusetts Lowell.
