Startup life: Meeting customers. Aušra Mažutavičienė & I met with customers today. Destination: Green & beautiful Oslo. The day started at 4am. On the flight to Oslo and meet with customers. The Reason for us going: Get to know the customers. Why: Happy customers are the most important part of building a successful business - in addition to having happy employees. Result: We learned, they learned - we are off to a great start. Maybe our approach to customer succes is why we had zero churn in the last couple of quarters 😊💚?

We are so happy to announce two new critical Customer Success hires this week: Lauren Fedore joins us as Vice President, Customer Success, and Mike Leikin joins us as Director, Regulated Customer Success. We are so proud of the work we have done with our incredible customers and investors and are excited to see that work accelerated with Lauren and Mike joining the team. Lauren joins us with 10+ years in Saas/Daas startups, and 13 years of customer success management within energy efficiency, commercial/industrial real estate, and supply chain/logistics analytics. Mike joins us with 10+ years in transportation and auto finance startups with a focus on customer insights and scaled operations. The Customer is the raison d'etre for every company. Customer Success is often preached but rarely lived. At Farseer, we had a Customer Success team from day one. It was the founders of Farseer. It’s still the majority of our work. Understanding the needs of our customers and designing the perfect product for them - is what we do. Customer Success is not just a team. It’s a guiding principle of any great company. Here are some things we do to help our customers succeed: 1️⃣ EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER has a dedicated CS manager 2️⃣. Customer Success is at least 50% of my work as a CEO 3️⃣. Our customers are the main drivers of our product roadmap 4️⃣. We closely track the way they use Farseer through qualitative and quantitive methods 5️⃣. We care. Like a lot. The things we lack in products we make up for in attention and support. Paul Graham said: “Do things that don’t scale”. We did that a lot in Customer Success. And we still do. I’m super proud of our Customer Success team. And even more proud of the customer-oriented culture we created. I know that THIS is the key thing to scale. #saas #startup #customersuccess

As a start up founder, there is no email in the world I’d rather receive. There’s literally nothing better than getting strong product validation from a real, paying, customer. I mean, friends and family saying “that’s a good idea” is one thing but to go out and have a real customer validate your idea - and more importantly tell you they’d LOVE to pay for it… it’s the ultimate win. For context, this is a water softener manufacturer who I sent a cold email to on Monday. I told him that through EZsaltGo we could set up a salt delivery service for any of their dealers in the country and enable them to promote salt delivery to their customers. Today this manufacturer met with one of their largest dealers to see if they saw value in our service, and this was their reaction to hearing about our service. (see image) LFG!!! That exact email is what I have heard from multiple EZsalt sensor dealers over and over for the last two years and at the beginning of this year we finally listened to that pain and pivoted to solve it. The response we’re getting from companies in the industry has been huge. This pivot came after I was inspired by Paul Ahlstrom ‘s book nail it then scale it. We stopped to listen to our dealer’s true pain (offering salt delivery to their customers). Hypothesized and sought feedback about a solution, got amazing, positive, feedback and then built it. The months following that pivot have felt like running downhill. EZsaltGo has been the piece of the puzzle we’ve been missing. (Back to the story) After receiving this email I got on the phone with their team and after seeing the value of what EZsaltGo could provide to one of their dealers, they are now making plans with us to roll this service out across their entire dealer network (over 150 dealers)🎉 Such a huge win for my little start up🥲 More updates to come… #startupsuccess #coldemailswork
