THANK YOU TO OUR BOARD CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR! Since 2016, Mayor Brenda F. Moore and Dr. Barbara Jones have served on the Board of Directors for the Saginaw County Community Action Committee. Recently, our Board Chair, Brenda Moore, decided it was time to pass the torch to others to serve. "The time is now, I believe in this agency and the good it does for the community. I've served in this position for over 8 years and now I believe it's time to let someone else take it further", said Moore. The agency is grateful for her service. Although she has stepped down as the Board Chair, she will remain on the board as a committed trustee and voice of wisdom as the agency presses ahead. Also, Dr. Barbara Jones served as the Vice Chair and Committee Chair for the Personnel Committee for many years. Her expertise and wisdom have positively impacted the agency and we'll always be indebted to her time of service. Effective in July 2024, she will be retiring from the board and will focus on other areas in the community. We are thankful for her service!

IMPACT 23 Nonprofit Spotlight: Orange County United Way Purpose Moment Livi Kerszenbaum, MBA, Sr. Director, Corporate Social Responsibility at OC United Way, shared a personal story underscoring life's unpredictability. Facing sudden responsibility as her husband recovered from a motorcycle accident, Kerszenbaum emphasized the importance of support systems, savings, and access to assistance. Highlighting the 'OC Way' of community support, OC United Way focuses on three key initiatives: Financial Security, Student Success, and Ending Homelessness. These efforts impact over a million lives annually, addressing graduation rates, family stability, and homelessness. Kerszenbaum emphasized the human inclination to contribute socially, citing OC United Way's 211 program connecting residents to vital services. Engaging in community service, she noted, correlates with improved mental well-being and longer life expectancies. The presentation concluded with a call for audience participation in a purposeful moment—sending words of encouragement for struggling veterans. The cards collected would be distributed to local veterans facing homelessness. #IMPACT23 #IMA #internetmarketing #OCUW #OrangeCountyUnitedWay #Veterans #PurposeMoment #Ai

I asked AI a simple question: How can Dr Deming's management philosophy be applied to the US Congress? The Answer: Dr. Deming's management philosophy emphasizes continuous improvement, teamwork, and customer focus. Applying it to the US Congress could involve fostering a culture of collaboration, listening to constituents as the "customers" of legislation, and implementing systematic approaches to address issues. This could lead to more effective governance and better outcomes for the public. My thoughts on Dr Deming: Deming's 14 Points: A Hilarious Blueprint for Something Like Success https://lnkd.in/ef3jJQHg My question to you: Am I being silly or what? I look forward to your answer in either the comments or in my DMs. #BobRutherford #Deming #Leadership #Consultant #GloriaJohnson #MeganBarry #TennesseePolitics #Tennessee #Nashville #TN #PoliticalSatire #FranklinTN #NashvilleTennessee #NashvilleTN #Democrats #Politics #Political #JustinJones #JustinPearson

This week, we come together to honor the dedicated men and women in law enforcement who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe. National Police Week is a time to recognize their bravery, commitment, and the sacrifices they and their families make every day. 🔵 Why It's Important: • Appreciation and Gratitude: Law enforcement officers often face dangerous and challenging situations. This week is an opportunity for us to express our heartfelt thanks and show our support. • Community Connection: Building a strong relationship between the police force and the community fosters trust and collaboration. Celebrating National Police Week helps bridge gaps and strengthens these vital connections. • Remembering the Fallen: We honor the memory of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten. 🔵 Ways to Celebrate: • Thank an Officer: A simple "thank you" can go a long way. If you see a police officer, let them know you appreciate their service. • Participate in Events: Many communities host events such as memorial services, parades, and educational activities. Get involved and show your support. • Support Police Initiatives: Consider donating to organizations that support law enforcement officers and their families, or participate in community programs aimed at improving safety and cooperation. To all law enforcement officers: Your unwavering commitment to upholding justice and protecting our neighborhoods does not go unnoticed. This week, and every week, we thank you for your service. #NationalPoliceWeek #SupportLawEnforcement #Community #Gratitude #HonorAndRemember #PublicSafety
