Spotlighting #ImpactFund Managers such as Invisible Heart Ventures’ (IHV2) For evidence of the #impactinvesting industry’s #maturation and #growth, look no further than the latest ImpactAssets 50, a #database of #fundmanagers representing a wide range of #geographies (mainly Africa in our case), sectors (predominantly tech-ventures contributing to the SDGs and agri-businesses (SDG2)), and asset classes (mainly private equity in our case). This year’s list includes 155 #experienced and #emergingimpactfunds (where we still belong to the 2nd category) representing $97 billion in assets, culled from a record number of #submissions (we hope to make the list in 2025). https://lnkd.in/eCbK8dPg

Family Wealth Advisory | Law | Communication | Social Impact | I help families identify, preserve and transfer their complete wealth across generations.
Real Stories of Multigenerational Wealth - 10 The Mars family, known for their confectionery empire, is the third wealthiest globally. The family's wealth journey began in 1911 with Frank C. Mars's candy business. His son, Forrest Mars Sr., expanded the company internationally and introduced innovative products like the Mars bar and M&M's. Over the decades, the family continued to grow the business through strategic acquisitions, such as Wrigley's in 2008, and by diversifying into pet care and food. However, their commitment to reinvesting profits into the business sets the Mars family apart, building a culture of innovation, and prioritizing long-term sustainability over short-term gains. This approach has allowed them to weather economic storms and maintain their position as a global confectionery and pet care industry leader. A key element of the Mars family's success is their private think tank. This intellectual hub encourages family members and experts to collaborate on innovative ideas that go beyond traditional business models. It also serves as a space to explore the broader role of money in society and how it can be used for positive change. Key lessons from the Mars family: Long-Term Vision: Building multi-generational wealth requires prioritizing long-term sustainability and reinvesting in the business. Purpose-Driven Wealth: Wealth should be viewed as a tool for positive impact, not just an end in itself. Economics of Mutuality: Businesses can thrive by balancing profit and purpose, meeting the needs of all stakeholders.

We are excited to announce that Cotopaxi has been chosen as one of the winners for the Fortune 2023 Change the World Awards, announced today! The Fortune Change the World list is rooted in the belief that companies can mobilize the creative tools of capitalism to help solve social problems—using the profit motive to achieve goals that are just as important as turning a profit, and sometimes more so. The 2023 list, their ninth, showcases 59 companies selected by their reporters and editors from a short list of nearly 250. Their selections include companies that are speeding up the EV revolution in the U.S and businesses that are teaming up to build energy-efficient “smart homes” and offering ingenious ways to keep food, plastic, and clothing out of landfills. Other businesses, meanwhile, are tackling public-health challenges and finding ways to grapple with the world’s refugee crises. And some of the world’s biggest companies are pouring resources into educating and upskilling people in their workforces and their wider communities—and perhaps training the next generation of problem-solving business leaders. What an incredible group of change-makers to be part of!
