Happy international women´s day! Why inclusion matters and how we turn this into action at #teambayer is shared by my colleague Florian below. Inclusion plays a fundamental role in gender equity. It challenges us to break down barriers and address biases so that women are empowered to fully participate in society and in the workplace. The importance of women in entrepreneurship and business is undeniable. Women entrepreneurs not only drive innovation and economic growth, but also inspire future generations to follow in their footsteps. According to a Boston Consulting Group (BCG) study, women founders create businesses at a rate of 45%, and women-led companies generate 10% more revenue compared to those led by men. At Eurolatin Strategy Consulting Ltd. , we are committed to promoting entrepreneurship through knowledge, passion, and contribution within the Latin American community in UK. We have created a conference focused on strengthening female entrepreneurship called "Triunfadoras 360". This initiative aims to support and provide tools for the Latin American women community residing in the UK to continue their entrepreneurial journey safely and with guidance. We hope that initiatives like this continue to grow so that a minority community can become visible and develop day by day. Mastercard and Women Choice partner to further support women entrepreneurs in MEA In collaboration with Women Choice, Mastercard has taken a leap forward in its mission to boost female entrepreneurship across the Middle East and Africa. This dynamic partnership aims to launch the ImpactHer and EmpowerHer programs to provide women entrepreneurs with extensive training, mentorship, and job creation opportunities. The initiative, which saw its pilot cohort kick off in 2023, targets to positively impact 50,000 women entrepreneurs this year, enabling them to grow their businesses and generate employment within their communities. Amnah Ajmal, Mastercard's Executive Vice President for Market Development in EMEA, emphasized the company's dedication to fostering an inclusive economic environment. Mastercard and Women Choice are set to equip women entrepreneurs with essential skills and resources for success. With International Women's Day right around the corner, it's a poignant time to celebrate the incredible achievements of women around the globe. Our collective stories of resilience, courage, and grace are the very fabric of our shared history and the backbone of our future. Among these stories, I am continually inspired by the journeys of women entrepreneurs in particular, who come to me every day with their innovative ideas brought to life against the odds, their leadership in the face of adversity, and their unwavering commitment to their vision. I want to take this opportunity to reflect on the barriers that women in entrepreneurship face—barriers that we must collectively work to dismantle. Despite making significant strides, women entrepreneurs often encounter additional hurdles in securing funding. Studies have shown that women-led startups receive a fraction of the venture capital funding compared to their male counterparts, not due to a lack of innovation or potential, but due to ingrained biases and a gender gap in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This disparity is not just a loss for women but a loss for the global economy at large. Diverse leadership has been linked to higher levels of creativity, innovation, and profitability. By addressing these challenges, we can unlock a wealth of opportunities and drive forward economic growth and social progress.
