We see more people buying homes in rural areas. Whether it’s for the beauty, space or best deal, you should be prepared to see a higher insurance premium. Insurance uses a ISO/TownClass rating when determining your premium. The townclass will range 1-10, with 1 being the best. This rating is based on your distance to a water source and fire department and what kind of equipment the fire department has. You can be 1 mile from the fire department but if it’s volunteer, expect a higher rating. Higher ratings such as 8b-10, can expect to see $2,000-$3,000 per year insurance premiums. Having a full sprinkler system is a great way to protect your home. You can also opt for a higher deductible to offset the cost. Insurance should only be used for catastrophic type losses. #homebuyer #homeinsurance #ISO #townclass #catastophic #ruralliving

#ShortTermInsurance 🏠🔥 DID YOU KNOW? Statistically 1 in 3 home contents are underinsured by as much as 30%. More geysers burst on a Monday than any other day of the week. By combining your home contents, building and car insurance under a single policy you could qualify for a reduced premium. Home owner's insurance vs home contents insurance - THERE'S A DIFFERENCE... It’s easy to get confused between home contents insurance and home owner’s insurance. 🏠 A. HOME OWNER'S INSURANCE: This is sometimes called buildings insurance and covers the structure of your house and other immovable items such as your carpets and geyser. 📦 B. HOME CONTENTS INSURANCE: This can cover everything in your house which you will take with you should you ever decide to move - including your furniture, kitchen appliances, linen, clothing, electrical equipment and jewellery. Attention homeowners and property managers! When it comes to water damage, swift action is key to minimizing long-term consequences. But did you know that testing for mold is just as important as addressing the immediate water damage? Here’s why: 1. Hidden Threats: Even after water has been removed and surfaces appear dry, moisture can linger in hidden areas such as wall cavities, under flooring, and in ceiling spaces. This trapped moisture creates the perfect environment for mold growth, which can go unnoticed until it becomes a major problem. 2. Health Risks: Mold spores released into the air can trigger a range of health issues, including allergies, respiratory problems, and exacerbation of existing conditions such as asthma. Identifying and addressing mold early on is essential for safeguarding the health and well-being of occupants. 3. Property Damage: Mold growth can cause structural damage to your property over time, compromising its integrity and reducing its value. From rotting wood to deteriorating drywall and insulation, unchecked mold can lead to costly repairs and renovations down the line. 4. Insurance Coverage: Many insurance policies require proof of mold testing and remediation before covering water damage claims. By proactively testing for mold after water damage occurs, you can ensure that you have the documentation needed to file a successful insurance claim and receive adequate coverage for repairs. At McBrides Environmental LLC, we understand the importance of thorough mold testing and remediation to protect your property and the health of its occupants. Our experienced team utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to accurately assess and address mold issues, ensuring a safe and healthy indoor environment for you and your loved ones.
