Ahead of this years Bonfire Night 🔥 we would like to say “Stay Safe & Have Fun” from all at Plan Insurance Brokers 😄 Some quick tips if you are celebrating with fireworks and/or a bonfire:- The “Don’t” Tiplist ❌ Don’t forget to #plan your celebrations and clearly mark areas to be used for fire/fireworks and designated viewpoints. ❌ Don’t forget to have plenty of safety resources at the ready such as fire extinguishers/blankets etc. ❌ Never return to and attempt to handle an unexploded firework, always render them useless and if unsure simply keep yourself and others well away from them. And the “Do” Tiplist ✅ Do keep it fun and safe for everyone by providing safety goggles and earmuffs - especially for those who are handling sparklers, such as small children and those are are more vulnerable to loud sounds such as the elderly. ✅ Do keep all pets safe and indoors remembering that they can be hugely affected by the noise from fireworks. On average, there were 770 home structure fires per year from 2014 to 2018 that began with Halloween decorations, according to the most recent data from the National Fire Protection Association (#NFPA). More than one-third of these fires were attributed to candles. While accidental house fires are covered by homeowners insurance, it’s probably not what you had in mind for Halloween.
