I would like to republish this article, in a stand-alone format, from the recent [already published] edition of The Bursting Bomb (1-24) because it is unique, relative to the somewhat esoteric content of the Marine Gunner Association magazine. I hope that in its stand-alone form, this article might be seen by a wider audience, perhaps, than those who normally read our magazine...maybe even just the one person who really needs it right now. If you know a post 9-11 combat veteran who might benefit from a W&QW program, please let them know about this. The programs fill up fast (since they are amazing) so stay frosty. We will publish another W&QW focus piece in our next edition of The Bursting Bomb. The W&QW website can be accessed at: https://lnkd.in/gCGqYWn3

Blame evokes defensive behaviour and defensiveness reduces self awareness. Blame is all about history, fear and past whereas we must spend more time on aspiration, hope and future. Therefore, in our day to day personal and professional life, we should remind ourselves of not getting "trapped" in blame exercise at all. It will surely help !! #blame #defensive

Managing Partner & Command Sergeants Major (Ret) US Army @ HornRuckle & Associates | Executive Search Firm Engineering, Manufacturing High Potential Leadership
**One Nation** In December of 2022, I was in a major car accident. As I sped towards the collision point, everything seemed to go into ultra slow motion. I managed to lift my right leg and hip off my seat just as a guard rail pierced through the front of my truck, through the engine block, and right through the seat. If time hadn't slowed down, allowing me to move, the rail would have pierced my abdomen, ripping me in half. Instead, I ended up with a broken lower leg and a bruise from the back of my knee across my buttocks, filled with blood as it tore the muscle from the bone. I should have been dead. The only conclusion is divine intervention. I shouldn't have regained consciousness; I shouldn't have been able to react and lift myself off the seat. I should have been impaled and torn in two. The recent events with the former President have reminded me of a few things. I understand how the former President feels as someone who shouldn't have survived. These incidents change you; they make you reflect more often, make you want to help people, give more back, and bring you closer to your family and friends. My own brush with death this most recent time has made me understand that life is fleeting, so make the most of it. I truly hope that the left and right can find a way to come together as we did after Pearl Harbor and 9/11. We don't have to agree on policy, but we need to come together as one nation and stop the divisive, hate-filled attacks against one another. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines answered a call to serve—to serve the nation and every citizen, regardless of political affiliation. It is time for every citizen to serve this great nation and become united.
