Proud of my non-profit AAU basketball team. Our high school boys went from 0-3 in the first tournament a couple of weeks ago to 2-1 in our second tournament this past weekend. That is a significant achievement. Our hard work and dedication are paying off. As we prepare for the National tournament, we will focus on these key things to keep our momentum going: 1. **Focus on Fundamentals:** 2. **Analyze and Learn:** 3. **Team Building:** 4. **Conditioning and Health:** 5. **Mental Preparation:** **Embodied Logic Basketball**

On Wednesday 26th June, I'm abseiling down the Lloyd's 86 building. Why? Because I can! (Oh, and to raise money for charity!) For those who don't know, I am registered as blind. There are lots of things society thinks blind people can’t or shouldn't do. The Royal National Institute for Blind People's mission is to change public perception about what it means to live with sight loss and to create a society in which blind and visually impaired people can participate equitably. The RNIB have been part of my life since I was diagnosed with a rare genetic eye condition shortly after birth. They supported my parents in their fight to secure funding for the help I needed to make a mainstream education possible, and, through RNIB summer camps for blind and visually impaired children, gave me opportunities to experience activities like archery, rifle shooting and quad biking (all just about as scary as they sound when you can't see where you're going or what you're shooting at, but incredible experiences nonetheless!) In short, the RNIB helped me and my family to “see differently” that very little is impossible on account of my disability – an ethos I live by! 3% of the UK population are living with sight loss that meets the international definition of being visually impaired. Of those, 17% have a condition severe enough to be registered as blind or partially sighted. Too many blind and partially sighted people are still being deprived of a proper education, unable to secure employment and denied their democratic right to vote independently. The RNIB is continuing its campaign against these injustices, holding those in power to account and influencing decision-makers, while providing practical and emotional support to anyone who needs it; helping them to overcome barriers, boost their confidence and not let sight loss hold them back. So please consider sponsoring me so that the RNIB can continue its amazing and truly valuable work. (I promise that hanging off the side of a building is no less scary when you can’t see how far there is to fall!) https://lnkd.in/gVwWfHNJ

This month marks a pivotal moment in history — the 56th anniversary of the signing of the Fair Housing Act. As we commemorate this landmark legislation, we also reflect on the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., whose unwavering commitment to equality and justice paved the way for its passage. In the wake of Dr. King's tragic assassination, the Fair Housing Act emerged as a beacon of hope, a tangible step toward dismantling the barriers of discrimination in housing. Yet, over five decades later, our work is far from finished. The vision Dr. King articulated, of a nation where all are judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character, remains elusive for far too many. Just last year, NFHA reported that there were over 33,000 fair housing complaints throughout the country-the highest number of reported complaints since we've been tracking this data. Moreover, millions of incidents of discrimination go unreported, particularly as we now tackle the new frontier of technology and algorithmic bias. As Dr. King reminded us, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." It is up to us to bend that arc, to continue the fight for fair and inclusive housing for all. Please support the important work we do at NFHA to advance housing justice by donating at least $56 during Fair Housing Month. Together, we can build a future where every person has access to safe, affordable, and equitable housing — a future that fulfills the promise of Dr. King's dream. Thank you for standing with us in this vital mission. https://lnkd.in/eM248xXu In Solidarity, National Fair Housing Alliance
