Call me old-fashioned, but I'm a firm believer that outdoor play is an essential part of growing up. This picture was taken a few years ago - we've moved house since then - but our new garden is also child-friendly. Playing outdoors allows children to develop self-confidence, independence, self-esteem and imagination. They also become aware of limits, boundaries and challenges in their play. Children are more likely to try new activities when they are used to playing outdoors. Having a safe place for children to play helps with the well-being for the whole family. After a productive outdoor activity session, youngsters eat better and sleep better - what more could any grown-up wish for? And yes, it is hard to ensure the garden is more engaging than a computer game, but it can be done. Book a consultation with our in-house garden designer to discover ways of making your garden safer and more exciting for the whole family.

Will anyody love these kind of indoor play sets? As a teacher said, having such a set of equipment in heavy snow, heavy rain, strong winds, or very hot or cold weather is really too happy. 😁 These are two multipicate play sets, one is small, with rainbowl chair, kinds of climbing ladders. Children can easily form boxes as they want through team collaboration. The other one is a large amusement device consisting of a combination of treehouses, slides, climbing ladders, tunnels, and other elements, even include sensory swings, balance boards, tactile bins, and fidget toys. The children can navigate through the entire treehouse, providing a thrilling and fun experience. It also helps children develop their sensory processing skills, improve focus and attention, enhance motor skills, promote relaxation, and provide sensory input to support emotional regulation. #teamwork #playground #sports #indoorsports #indoorplayground #woodenplayground #nature #montessoriinspired #montessorisports

Every day for the past fortnight, one of my sons has come home from school and spent the next hour or two going up and down the footpath on his skateboard. Every few days he’s gone further, he’s made it to the school and practised there, he’s discovered a boy around the corner who is also keen on skating, he’s failed 100 times and picked himself up and pushed himself in a way that I know doesn’t come easy. He’s practised resilience and managing frustration and starting over again and again. He’s waited patiently as the toddler next door wanted a turn. He’s negotiated turns and point scoring with his brothers. He’s felt pride and exhaustion. All the things people who observe children at play see every single day. When we talk about valuing active play and safer streets and the freedom to play out, we are actually talking about allowing our children the time, the safe spaces and the permission to grow and learn and challenge themselves to become well rounded adults. It’s developmentally appropriate that kids do this- but we seem to create so many barriers both as parents and as a society. I’ve spoken to families who would happily allow their kids to play out- but the barriers are just too big to easily give that permission. Who could blame them? What ends up happening is that this kind of free after school play becomes a privilege. It becomes something that happens easily in some communities and rarely in others. What is the impact of that? Theres definitely no single solution, but an excellent starting point is getting people on board to see how incredibly important this is to the next generation, and how it starts right in our own neighbourhoods.

Playground cheat codes no one wants 𝘆𝗼𝘂 to know 🤯 ⬇ The key to crack a successful playground = 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲. 🗝 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗬 Check your warranties !! ⭐️Building confidence in children with co-ordination difficulties through play⭐️ Some children will never be ‘risk takers’ with play equipment. This can be partially due to differences in the sensory system that controls feelings associated with balance. But can be due to instability with co-ordination. Children with Dyspraxia will have life-long additional challenges with co-ordination, knowing which pieces of outdoor play equipment can help to build confidence is key to promoting active play for all.
