🌟 Exciting News! We’re thrilled to announce that we've been awarded a small grant comprising of £3318 from the Inclusive Communities Fund— a £9 million initiative inspired by the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. 🚀 Our mission: Our aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental environment for children and young people with additional needs. Aligned with the Commonwealth Games principles, we are focussed on bringing people together, improving well-being, fostering growth, and putting our region on the map. 💡 Themes of impact: We are centred around Mental Health and Well-being. SNAP receives no statutory funding whatsoever, therefore is reliant on grants, donations and fundraising. This funding is essential to ensure that we can keep our session fees at an affordable cost for our customers. Receiving a grant for core costs will enable us to focus on delivering a consistent and stable service to those who need it. It will also aid our resilience in a time of unforeseen challenges. 🌈 Positive change: With this fund, we will be able to empower our community, address real issues and creating a lasting legacy. Thanks to the @Heart of England Community Foundation, @West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), @United by Legacy, @UKGOV and the Commonwealth Games organisers for this incredible opportunity. Stay tuned for updates on our journey as we contribute to lasting positive change! 🌟 #InclusiveCommunities #LegacyFund #PositiveChange

Today is #InternationalWheelchairDay, the perfect day for me to share that on Sunday 21st April I will be wheeling the 2024 London Marathon to support Whizz Kidz. Over 75,000 young people in the UK need to use a wheelchair to be mobile. Unfortunately, they cannot access the equipment that meets their needs through local services. Whizz Kidz are there for all of them. Whizz Kidz are the UK’s leading charity supporting young wheelchair users up to 25 years old. They empower young wheelchair users with the equipment, support, and confidence-building experiences they need to take an active role in society. The Whizz Kidz goal is to create a movement for progress towards a more open and accessible world. All donations will go towards Whizz Kidz who will help support young wheelchair users in a number of ways. For example: 🟡 £45 could pay for a young wheelchair user to attend their local Whizz Kidz Club for an hour, reducing social isolation, and providing an opportunity to gain confidence. 🟡 £260 could enable Whizz Kidz to see a young person and their family at a local Mobility Clinic, where Therapists and Engineers will assess their needs and handover the right piece of equipment. 🟡 £1,000 could enable Whizz Kidz to provide an adapted trike for a disabled child. These adapted trikes give children a safe and fun way to exercise. 🟡 £3,700 could enable Whizz Kidz to provide a manual wheelchair for a disabled child, which is comfortable, well-fitting, and lightweight. 🟡 £5,500 could enable Whizz Kidz to provide a powered wheelchair, helping a child to participate fully at school and in social activities and allowing them to keep up with siblings and classmates. If you are able to, donations can be made via https://bit.ly/2024-LM thank you 💛 #InclusionRevolution #MoveALifeForward #LondonMarathon #Fundraising #Wheelchair #BeTheDifferenceGoTheDistance

Here at developmentplus we celebrating after being awarded £689k in National Lottery funding to continue our work with people who have been in the criminal justice system. We will use the funds to offer intensive 1-1 mentoring sessions and group work with a view of reducing prison stays. Recognition was also made by The National Lottery Community Fund of the core funding challenges charities are facing, with that in mind, funding was also allocated to our core costs and the continuing development of our social enterprise “Lumina” an approach to help support the diversification of funds moving forward. Lynsey Collinson, CEO of Developmentplus, says: “We’re delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund has recognised our work in this way. 📣A Huge 𝓣𝓗𝓐𝓝𝓚 𝓨𝓞𝓤 to the supportors of MTP CDC‼️ Without your investments, time & endorsements, real and lasting change would not be possible❣️👏 🌟Donations, whether it be that of resources or monetary contributions are crucial for the success of a Community Development Corporation. 1️⃣These donations help to provide the necessary funding needed to implement programs and initiatives aimed at promoting economic development. 2️⃣These donations allow the CDC to offer services such as small business clinics, workforce development programs, technical assistance, and infrastructure improvements. 3️⃣Additionally, financial contributions help the CDC cover operational costs, assist with program accessibility, and expand their reach within the community. 📌Without sufficient funding, the CDC would struggle to effectively support local businesses, create job opportunities, and drive economic growth in the community. 🍃Therefore, your donations play a vital role in ensuring the success and sustainability of the CDC's efforts and we are grateful for it. 👀 Stay Updated! Today is the closing date for both the Small Works and Refurbishment and Large grant streams from the Inclusive Communities Fund. But we have many other funds available for local organisations across the Midlands. If you’re in a 25-mile radius of Birmingham City Centre, you could be eligible to apply for the Harry Payne Fund, aiming to help those who are disadvantaged, or helping smaller causes where modest donations can make a difference. For organisations based in Coventry, Solihull, and Warwickshire, there are grants of up to £3,000 available for organisations who promote health and wellbeing and tackle disadvantage as part of the Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire (CSW) Communities Fund. Or for organisations based in Edgbaston and Northfield there are two funds available, the Edgbaston and Northfield NNS Fund for Younger Adults and Older Adults, supporting organisations that help local community groups deliver projects for vulnerable people. For more information on all our funds, please head over to our website, linked below https://lnkd.in/epkqz2nX 📷 Shencare #Grants #AvailableGrants #CommunityFoundation #Support #Birmingham #Coventry #Solihull #Warwickshire #Edgbaston #Northfield #DoMoreLocal

Housing education of lower-income households without production of new units is a straight up scam. We need to focus on tackling the source of the problem instead of just educating households for disappointment. While DP programs are good, they cannot replace new units. It's important to acknowledge that some nonprofits are doing great work, but we need to stop the charade and put our efforts into producing new units. Let's work together to find real solutions to this problem. #affordablehousing #nonprofits #housingcrisis

Released just ahead of #BlackHistoryMonth, the latest report from the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy shows how racially discriminatory, exclusive, and exploitative practices contributed to the building of wealth in the DMV and offers a framework for foundations to address their own history and "repair, heal and restore local communities harmed by the actions and decisions that created charitable wealth." Developed with funding from if, A Foundation for Radical Possibility, the report focuses on four sectors--media, housing, employment, and healthcare--and includes case studies of eight foundations. Download it at ncrp.org/reparations.

Helping Sales Professionals make the most of their commissions | Financial Adviser & Mortgage Broker
Ever wondered where your charity dollars really go? I did too. Until I discovered something unique. Last night, Meg Baruta and I attended P500's vote night. It's different. P500 pools donations for maximum impact. Half invested for the future, half + 4% from the endowment fund, granted now. Last night's decision? Tiny Dots Early Intervention. Our $79K grant will help them make 2 big changes. 1 - Provide weekly screening sessions for parents concerned their baby may have a disability or impairment. 2 - Hire a staff member to educate the community on what signs indicate potential disabilities/impairments in children under 2 years old. Curious about P500? Reach out to Cormac HANRAHAN #finance #geelong #charity The purpose of this content is to provide general information only and is not personal financial advice.
