The latest National Hurricane Center forecast shows #HurricaneBeryl is over the Yucatan Peninsula and will emerge into the Gulf of Mexico later today as a tropical storm. The NHC projects Beryl will re-strengthen into a hurricane again before making landfall late Sunday or early Monday. RYZE Claim Solutions urges everyone near the Gulf Coast of Texas to keep a very close eye on Beryl's path. The #NHC Cone, a composite of various models, continues to shift slightly northward into the Texas coastline. As always, think safety first. #TropicalDepression2 has formed in the Atlantic Ocean and the National Hurricane Center forecasts that it will become a hurricane in the next two days as it approaches the Windward Islands. The NHC's forecasters point out that it's "unusual" for such a storm to form this early in the season in the Atlantic Ocean. But the Atlantic is warmer than normal, and El Nino has disappeared. RYZE Claim Solutions urges everyone to keep track of this one, even though it will be days before it reaches the Caribbean. Think safety first. Some models are predicting that it could gain major hurricane strength, according to the #NHC. RYZE stands ready to help our clients and their policy holders in the event this storm or any others impacts the U.S. Here's a link to the NHC's site: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ Scott St. John RYZE President & Chief Claims Officer www.ryzeclaims.com

#OnThisDay in 1983, Hurricane Alicia slammed into the Texas coast, becoming the first billion-dollar storm in the state’s history. Alicia was a Category 3 hurricane with winds of 115 mph (185 km/h) when it made landfall near Galveston, where it caused extensive damage to buildings, boats, and bridges. The storm then moved inland and hit Houston, where it shattered windows, toppled trees, and spawned tornadoes. Alicia killed 21 people and injured hundreds more, and left more than one million people without power. The total damage was estimated at $2.6 billion (1983 USD), making it the costliest Atlantic hurricane at the time. Alicia was also the first hurricane to strike the U.S. mainland in three years, ending the longest period of the twentieth century without a landfalling hurricane on the U.S. coast. Alicia taught us many lessons about hurricane preparedness, response, and recovery, and showed us the resilience and strength of the Texas spirit. Today, we remember those who lost their lives or suffered losses due to Alicia, and we honor those who helped rebuild our communities after the storm. www.worldweatheronline.com ______________________ #HurricaneAlicia #hurricaneseason #NeverForget #Houston #hurricanecategory3 #texashurricane

I build spaceships and I control the weather! Our NASA award-winning technology will deliver earlier, 2X more accurate hurricane forecasts and improve all weather forecast models to reduce the cost of climate events.
It's called Hurricane Season for a reason... the Atlantic is still very active. While Hurricane Nigel has faded Tropical Storm Ophelia has been gathering strength and there is a third area of interest gathering off the African coast. Remember Hurricane Lee was just last week and Hurricane Idalia just before that. If you're in the affected area, it is important to stay updated and understand the warnings. There is a difference between a "Watch" and a "Warning" and they both need to be taken seriously. This is one of those situations where I will state again, 12 hours is a big deal. We need earlier, more accurate forecasts and I only know of one technology that can improve the intensity and forecast track by 12 hours. If that sounds crazy, go read the papers on the Carnot Engine model vs. current models. Our 3D space-based data will prove it. www.weathersats.com #hurricaneseason #wind #tropicalstorm #space #smallsat #insurance #reinsurance #climatechange
