The second matchday of UEFA EURO 2024 is behind us and has brought us some interesting constellations in the tables. But first of all, a big respect for Georgia, who put up a great fight to secure their first point at a European Championship at their very first appearance. In Group A, everything seems to be clear so far. Germany are through to the last 16 and tonight they face Switzerland for first place in this group. Hungary have to win and are under enormous pressure against Scotland to progress as one of the best 3rd place teams in the groups. Spain have already qualified for the round of 16 as Group 1 in Group B. Behind them, Italy, Albania and Croatia are fighting for places. Italy have the best chance of finishing 2nd here. In Group C, one point is enough for England to progress. But based on their performances so far, this will be a difficult task. In my opinion, Denmark have the better chance of finishing 1st in this group. Group D will be really exciting. Poland have the least chance of progressing here. But with a surprise win against France, they could perhaps still be among the best 3rd place teams in the groups. In any case, it will be tight when it comes to places 1 and 2. If Austria wins, they will be in the race for 1st place. The most exciting constellation is certainly in Group E, where all teams have won once and are equal on points. It is incredibly difficult to make a prediction here, as all four teams have shown inconsistent performances. Ukraine can certainly count on the support of their fans. Considering how loud they were in the game in Düsseldorf, we can look forward to a fan festival. Portugal are safely qualified in Group F. Georgia should have no chance against the Portuguese. Turkey and the Czech Republic, on the other hand, already have a final game and this match promises to be a tough fight to progress. With the Turks slightly in favour. So far, the European Championship has given us a great atmosphere, great fan marches, lots of goals from the distance, slapstick interludes and a few surprises. Plus a heavyweight challenge of France taking on Portugal in #Volksparkstadion of HSV. Will this be last appearance of #Ronaldo in a major tournament. The following day, dark horses Switzerland are pitted againt under-performing England in Dusseldorf Arena, with the quarter final stage coming to a close as the Netherlands face Turkiye at Team Olympiastadion Berlin. It's all to play for as a new chapter in UEFA Euros history is written. But what we already know - it will be exciting. Whether if involves extra-time or even penalties, we need a quartet of winners to provide that semi-final line-up.
