I want to give a BIG shout out to Monique Thornquist, MBA. She not only introduced the Compliment Card Ice Breaker (inspired by a recent post of mine) but also received some of the best feedback I’ve seen as a leader.
They say the best leaders of today are the ones that are people first, build a great culture, create great teams, inspire followership, and do it with a ton of care and empathy.
According to her team, Monique checks off all these boxes! ✅
Incredibly grateful to have you as a leader here at Inteli-Care LLC & TEAM.

Monique Thornquist, MBA you came to IC when I needed the support and inspiration the most! I never thought I would ever get to the opposite of what I was feeling, and I am now there due to your leadership. You've listened and helped create the culture I've always wanted for IC. Our team-ily is engaged and it's been showing in our numbers and it will only get better. Thank you for all you do!
Can I add to the small space available at the back of the card?

Never underestimate the power of support and championing others.
Years ago I was in the earlier stages of building my global leadership mentoring practice. I literally started from ground zero. No clients. No clear definition of my offer let alone my ‘niche’.
What I did have in spades was an absolute burning desire and determination to create something that would make a bloody good difference to the world and senior leaders.
I invested, what was a big budget back then, in attending a leadership conference where I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the incredible power house and force for making things that matter happen Tania Hector.
This began my journey with #Nestlè and #CerealPartners.
My first client was Alistair Lee who was a true delight to partner. I owe a lot to Alistair as he helped me as much as I helped him.
At the time I was concluding my programme with him, we got the horrible news my Mum had Bowel Cancer. We are the lucky ones as she went on to make a full recovery post surgery- but I didn’t know this at the time.
Understandably my energy and hunger for growth and development for my business was very low. All I could think of was my Mum.
Alistair, being the absolute sales master and commercial legend that he is, kept encouraging me to grow my relationship across Nestlè. He went out of his way to back me.
His support and encouragement made all the difference and, to not let him down, I got back in my own ‘sales saddle’.
We all need that person to help us take the next step and hold us accountable.
Fast forward 7 years, I’ve been a perferred partner to Nestlè for all this time working across many areas of the business with amazing senior leaders and am currently working with Cereal Partners’ UK&I senior leadership team, which includes Alistair. What a lovely circle!
So thank you Alistair. ❤️
It was your championing of me when my world tilted and your wonderful support that lead to me and my business growing in so many ways. I am forever grateful. And to Tania for originally championing that solopreneur way back in the early days!
Never underestimate the impact those gentle nudges and offers to help can make. From tiny acorns to giant oaks really does happpen!
Who has helped you just because they could and who would you like to thank?

I love to share this post from the CEO of KraftHeinz. First of all, I find his openess in sharing his views and thoughts refreshing. Second, I find his view on learning from companies outside his own industry most interesting. Also because he is sharing his view with the outside world.
I agree that connecting with- and learning from other industries is wise.
In my work as area manager for the spirits beverage company Bols Int. I have learned a lot from my Spanish and Italian distributors. Concerning communication with others, influencing, management, negotiations, care for other cultures.
Also discussing vision/mission on C-level.
And I learned from my former Swedish Marketing Sales Director Mats Walberg, to also expand your network outside your own industry.
To, indeed, get different perspectives and ideas regarding your own business.
To find new growth in your business, do things differently. Don’t copy the competition. Look outside your branche.
Chief Executive Officer at The Kraft Heinz Company
Last week, I had the privilege of attending 📍 Harvard Business School's New CEO Workshop, where I spent time with a small group of new CEOs from all different industries and countries. Despite having very different businesses, we face many of the same challenges and we learned so much from one another.
During the workshop, we had the privilege of hearing from amazing leadership experts Hubert Joly, Bill George, Amy Edmondson, Nitin Nohria and Mihir Desai. They shared a wealth of knowledge and experience with us (they also have incredible books I recommend reading!).
At Kraft Heinz, we talk about the importance of continued learning and staying curious, no matter where you are in your career journey. We are organizationally committed to a growth mindset, and that includes me. I’m grateful and better for it!
“I walked away motivated to be more committed and focused to put me first.”
“It was a wonderful opportunity to check-in with myself, where I am in my business, and where I see myself going.”
“This is by far the best group of women I’ve been involved with in a long time.”
These are just some of the things women said after attending last year’s Boss Lady Women’s Leadership Conference last year.
If you are looking to:

How Can Two Days Change You?

As we navigate through our careers, it's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day tasks and forget the impact we have on those around us. Take a moment to reflect on the leaders and managers who inspired you when you were starting out. What qualities did they possess that made you look up to them? Was it their empathy, their guidance, or their unwavering support?
When we become the leaders we once hoped for, we create a ripple effect of positivity and growth that extends far beyond ourselves
✨Taking a Pause to Remember Why: Reflection Fueling My Purpose✨
Sometimes, the most impactful moments arrive unexpectedly. This week, I've had two such experiences that have left me feeling deeply fulfilled and reminded me exactly why I do what I do.
First, I watched a video featuring a former client of mine. He overcame significant barriers to employment, and seeing him talk about his journey to success, with me playing a crucial role, was incredibly moving. His words were a powerful testament to the ripple effect of our work, and the lives we can touch and transform. It was a humbling reminder that the daily grind, the late nights, and the challenges are all worth it when we witness the positive impact we have on others.
Then, I came across this heartfelt post by my colleague, Taneka Pernell In it, she expressed her gratitude for the guidance and support I've provided her over the years, both professionally and personally. Her words were like a warm embrace, acknowledging the unseen efforts and genuine care I invest in my relationships. Taneka's appreciation solidified my belief that the most meaningful connections are built on authenticity and a shared passion for empowering others.
These experiences have served as powerful anchors, reminding me of the profound purpose behind my career journey. It's not just about climbing the ladder or achieving personal milestones; it's about using my skills and experience to uplift others, create opportunities, and witness their own unique journeys unfold.
Reflection is a crucial tool in this pursuit. It allows us to appreciate the distance we've traveled, acknowledge the challenges we've overcome, and celebrate the moments where we've truly made a difference. It's the fuel that keeps us moving forward, even when the path gets blurry or the doubts creep in.
So, I encourage you all to take a moment today, or this week, to reflect on your own career journey. What moments have touched you the most? Who have you impacted, and how? What keeps you going? Share your stories, celebrate your wins, and let's inspire each other to keep making a meaningful difference in the world.
