Why investing in an in-house IT Business Analyst and Product Owner is one of the best IT Investments YOU CAN MAKE? Many organizations are determined to build their IT teams. The decision frequently comes from the top and is driven by several factors: Cost - historically, outside help has been a lot more expensive than in-house resources. Quality and control – almost everyone has had at least one terrible encounter with a bad contractor or consultant. Inside knowledge – no outsider can fully grasp the unique properties of an organization’s business, culture, operations, and processes. Building an inside team can prove to be a difficult and expensive task, especially for organizations for whom technology is not their primary business. The most qualified IT resources work for technology companies, and the field is extremely competitive. High turnover is expensive and frustrating. As soon as you train the right people for the job, they depart, and you must start from scratch again! Today, it’s easy to find solutions for cost, quality, and control issues. The cost of IT services has been steadily declining for at least a decade because of the availability of high-quality offshore engineers, and working with teams across the globe has become the norm. One issue an outsourcing company cannot do well is to provide you with someone who knows and intimately understands your organization and who can translate your organization’s requirements to the IT engineering team(s). This role is traditionally called an IT Business Analyst. I would like to suggest adding Product Owner responsibilities to their job description. A Product Owner maximizes the value delivered by the development team by making well-informed decisions about what to build and ensuring that the team is working on the most valuable features and improvements. Investing in an in-house IT Business Analyst and Product Owner is one of the best IT investments you can make. Smaller organizations can dedicate a portion of someone’s time to this role. Larger organizations would require a fully dedicated person for this role. Sometimes, the best candidates come from within your organization. However, please provide them with training for the role before you throw them into the fire. Questions or suggestions? Would love to talk. #itinsights #businessanalyst #productmanagement #techinnovation #salesforce

(CSM/Dad of a 1-year-old muffin*) There are numerous posts on the internet about what a Customer Success Manager does. Having worked as a CSM for both enterprise and smaller companies, I can share one key insight: a CSM is often the person who needs to address the "elephant in the room" when no one else will. A good CSM is a well-rounded specialist with a diverse skill set, including essential must-have soft skills. As the name suggests, they are at the heart of the customer experience and success. This role involves liaising with all parts of the team, from project managers to developers, and communicating with the client in the best possible way. It goes beyond traditional customer service; it’s about building a close professional relationsh. From my experience being a CSM is akin to being a parent. It takes years to develop the skills amongst patience, resilience, consistency needed to be an effective CSM, including extensive experience in customer service and understanding people’s needs. It can(and it will) be a stressful job, but this often means you’re meeting high expectations and handling them with grace, much like parenting. What do you think? #SaaSRecruiting #CustomerSuccessManager #CSMCareer #SaaSHiring #TechRecruitment *

Over the past eight years in my tenure as a business system analyst, I have witnessed significant changes in how #userstories are documented and managed. Firstly, there has been a notable shift towards more collaborative approaches. Tools like #Miro and #Lucidchart have revolutionized the way teams collaborate on user stories, allowing for virtual brainstorming sessions and real-time visualization of user journeys. This has greatly improved communication and alignment among stakeholders. Additionally, the adoption of #agile methodologies has transformed the way user stories are framed and prioritized. Techniques such as Impact Mapping and Behavior-Driven Development (#BDD) have become standard practices, helping to link user stories directly to business objectives and ensuring testability of requirements. Moreover, the emergence of streamlined tools like Atlassian Jira and Microsoft Azure DevOps has enabled more efficient management of user stories. These platforms facilitate iterative refinement and dynamic prioritization based on evolving project needs and customer feedback. Furthermore, the trend towards leaner documentation practices has optimized workflows, allowing for clearer and more concise user story documentation while maintaining the essential details needed for implementation. In summary, over the past eight years, I have observed a shift towards more collaborative, agile, and efficient approaches to documenting user stories, leveraging innovative tools and techniques to deliver value-driven solutions effectively. This evolution has empowered #businessanalysts to adapt to changing project dynamics and deliver better outcomes for #stakeholders. #AgileDevelopment #ProductManagement #BusinessAnalyst #UserExperience #CollaborativeDocumentation #AgileMethods #SoftwareDevelopment #DigitalCollaboration #ImpactMapping #BehaviorDrivenDevelopment #LeanDocumentation #AgileTools #Jira #AzureDevOps #SQL #Workday #Salesforce #ServiceNow #UAT #BusinessAnalystJobs #BusinessSystemAnalyst #Opentowork #BAJobs #SystemAnalyst #JobSearch #Hiring #JobOpening #BusinessAnalysis #AgileJobs #ProductManagement #TechJobs #CareerOpportunity #JobSeeker #ContractJobs. #Resume #LinkedInJobs #JobHunt #NewOpportunity #JobSeeking
