Today is the 249th birthday of the US Army! As a I dwell on my military service and my recent experience participating in the 80th anniversary of #dday, I can't help but think about the generations of fighting men and women who have selflessly raise their hand in defense of our great nation. But I am also in awe of the countless family members of Soldiers that supported their service member throughout their military career. #happybirthday #thankyou #selflessservice

Yesterday, HITRUST sent a letter to the U.S. Congress and Regulatory members, expressing HITRUST’s support for their efforts to evaluate and address ransomware attacks, such as the ones recently suffered by Change Healthcare and Ascension Health.   The letter urges lawmakers to view the problem as a matter of #riskmanagement with a focus on selecting and using relevant controls that are threat-adaptive, and ensuring that compliance outcomes, where needed, are earned through robust and reliable assurance programs. The US #healthcare industry doesn't need a new standard, a new HIPAA but rather we should focus on reliable #assurances for the existing standards available to healthcare entities. Omaha beach and additional photos from the jump show that the beach was packed, requiring a mile hike to reach it. The sobering thought was of Allied forces walking those beaches and roads after the initial assault.

Today, in the late hours of the 5th of June in 1944, thousands of paratroopers descended from the sky into the Normandie region of France. They were critical to the Allie invasion in Europe which eventually ended #WWII. This invasion was just another chapter in the story of the ##greatestgeneration. Sadly, we lose WWII veterans everyday but their legacy lives on through us... Humbly, I was able to participate in the 80th anniversary of this momentus day. I jumped into D'azeville, France where 80 years ago members of Easy Company of the #101airborne seize a battery of guns silencing them from firing on US troops landing on the beaches. Thank you to Mercy Ameyaw Aston and the Raymond James Valor Network for making my participation a reality. Thank you to the Horse Soldier Bourbon team and the ROUND CANOPY PARACHUTING TEAM-USA FOUNDATION INC allowing to jump with them. Honor our heroes...
