Food festivals aren't just about yummy treats. They are celebrations of heritage and innovation. For me, attending Gulfood was an eye-opening experience. On the first day itself, I was amazed by the variety and innovation. From a cappuccino mix snack that surprised my taste buds to healthy broccoli & carrot snacks, The creativity was endless. Keto-friendly treats and unique tubs of chips were crowd favorites, but the pop chips were the show's star. The gulfood festival was a global phenomenon. Over 190 countries come together, each with its culinary jewels on display. And here's why I think food festivals like Gulfood are more than just events: ➡️ It exposed cultural offerings to a vast audience, creating national and international interest and boosting traditional flavors to new heights. ➡️ The festival was a treasure trove of global food trends, with new varieties that resonate with a global audience while staying true to our roots. Food festivals are more than just food; they celebrate culture. By participating, we can share our stories, the traditional methods behind our creation, and the significance these snacks hold in Bikaneri culture. Events like Gulfood bring together foodpreneurs and industry experts from across the globe. We can connect with potential partners, distributors, or even investors who can help us take it to a broader national and international market. Today is National Frappé Day. From Cupcake Creme to Peanut Butter Cup and everything in between, frappés are undoubtedly an American staple in the coffee consuming world. Dimitris Vakondios made the first frappé at the 1957 International Fair in Thessaloniki, Greece. Vakondios was representing the Swiss-owned Nestlé food company at the annual international exhibition, where Nestle was introducing a new instant chocolate beverage made with milk and shaken in a shaker. Vakondios could not find hot water to make his usual Nescafe instant coffee during his break, so he improvised by mixing his Nescafe with cold water and ice in one of the exhibit shakers. Voila! The result was a satisfying and refreshing foamy cold coffee beverage that became the first Greek café frappé. Not only is Greek frappé still the most popular coffee beverage in Greece and Cyprus, but it is also the official national coffee drink of Greece. Today’s popular American versions of the Greek frappé contains milk, cream, or even ice cream, blended with instant coffee, while the authentic Greek frappé contains no milk products. Greeks are quick to boast that the most important thing to know about a Greek frappé is that it does not contain ice cream, only crushed ice cubes and that it is shaken until it foams. This month is dry January, and it has us thinking...how big of a role will alcohol-free drinks play in the future of events? 🍸🚫 Consumption of alcohol continues to decrease, especially amongst Gen-Z. According to Conference & Incentive Travel (C&IT) , 78% of event professionals think a greater emphasis should be placed on serving interesting mocktails at events. Whilst alcohol is likely to remain a big part of many events, we believe there will continue to be a shift away from such an emphasis on alcohol at events. Here are a few ideas for elevating your next events with alcohol-free experiences: 🥂 Mocktail mixology: Engage your guests in the art of mocktail making, offering an alternative for those who prefer to skip spirits. 🥂 Craft non-alcoholic pairings: Expand your culinary experience by offering non-alcoholic beverage pairings that complement the flavors of each dish. 🥂 Interactive tasting stations: Create interactive tasting opportunities, featuring a diverse range of alcohol-free alternatives. #dryjanuary #events #eventprofs

Hospitality is facing so many challenges as Brits feel the pinch on their purses as we're also seeing real cultural changes that could alter the way we go out forever YET £85 million is lost by not upselling a water. AND the no and low market is absolutely thriving. This feels like a missed opportunity for hospitality and with this in mind I was really interested in this panel In Drinks drinks with some top voices spearheading change in the industry. So what do we know about this sea change that we're experiencing? ⚖ People of all generations and demographics are looking to moderate across all days of the week or times of the year. It's not just Gen Z, even though they are a big sober audience.  🎄 Not only have we had our driest Jan but last year saw the driest December too! Massive. 🍻 Guinness is spending tonnes of marketing budget promoting 00 and this change by a traditional drinking brand could be a huge factor in changing behaviour and awareness with traditional beer drinkers. What did the panel think is important for hospitality moving forwards? It's all about equality of serve... 👀 Make no and low as visible on site as the hard options with real menus! 🍺 Beer on draft - the humble pint glass makes people feel part of the group and less vulnerable. 🔊 Promote what you have on offer via website and social media as well as on site. Tell customers what they can expect before they arrive. 🍸 Variety - no one wants to take what they can get. It doesn't feel special. One lager won't cut it with so much variety on the market. 📝 And don't forget - the non drinkers are more likely to remember the drink and the service and shout about it to others because - well they can remember the night out! Be the venue that stands out from the competition and ensure they come back and bring their friends. The type of whiskey produced depends on the type of grain and barrel used in the distilling process. Additionally, the location also plays an important part in defining a whiskey. In the recent years, the number of ##bars, #pubs, #restaurants, and #breweries serving alcoholic beverages have grown exponentially. This is primarily driven by the increase in consumer spending, product innovations, rapid urbanization and growing demand from young consumers. There has been a shift from beer and wine to spirits consumption. Millennia value #quality, #authenticity and provenance, and hence are willing to pay more to enjoy this. Additionally, millennia are inclined to experiment with their alcoholic beverages, which has essentially led to the rise in ‘cocktail culture’. This trend has further enhanced the usage of whiskey as an #ingredient, thereby propelling the global whiskey market growth. Likewise, rise in spirit tourism especially in the western countries, encourages #tourists from overseas to indulge and develop taste for local beverages, including whiskeys. Countries such as the UK, France, the U.S., Scotland and others, have developed spirit led-tourism which enables tourists to comprehend the history and processes involved in producing whiskeys. This is regarded as one of the highest revenues generating factor for the whiskey market. However, the #popularity of alcoholic beverages could lead to issues of dependency, addiction and excessive consumption leading to health concerns. The rise in number of consumers suffering from alcohol #addiction has been a concern for #governments. Hence, many governments have made stringent rules and regulations about the sales and distributions of these products. These restrictions are thereby expected to hamper the growth of the global whiskey market.
