🎉 Medical Innovation vs Quality of Life 🎉 🎊 What is your opinion on medical interventions that extend life but potentially offer little improvement in overall well-being and quality of life? In my opinion, it's a complex and deeply personal matter that touches upon our values, beliefs, and perceptions of what constitutes a meaningful existence. While medical advancements have undoubtedly led to breakthroughs in extending life expectancy, we must also consider the impact on the quality of life for those receiving these interventions. For some, the prospect of additional time may be welcomed with open arms, as it offers precious moments with loved ones. However, for others facing debilitating illnesses or diminished cognitive function, prolonged life may entail prolonged suffering and reduced independence. Ultimately, the development and use of medical innovations that prolong life require careful consideration of the broader implications for an individual’s well-being and dignity, particularly for individuals nearing the end of their journey. #MedicalEthics #EndOfLifeCare #QualityOfLife

VIDEO. There is an acute shortage of family physicians in most of Canada's provinces. The reason is very simple. Most medical students choose to be a specialist because there is more money and prestige in it, if they choose family medicine, they will find themselves overworked, too many patients to attend to, less pay and financial return than a specialist. You know the state of health care in the country. And you learn how hospitals and medical associations can be effective using Communications and PR.

ORTHOPAEDIC TRAUMA AND JOINT REPLACEMENT SURGEON |M.B.B.S|M.S(ORTHO)|Clinical Fellow in Arthroplasty|
Part 2/2 I made me ponder as doctors, we often find ourselves in positions of respect and authority. Patients trust us with their lives, colleagues look up to us for guidance, and the community holds us in high esteem. But it's crucial to remember that these privileges are accorded to our roles, not to us as individuals. In the fast-paced and high-stress environment of healthcare, it's easy to get caught up in our own importance. However, embracing humility keeps us grounded. It helps us remember that we are part of a larger team working towards the common goal of patient care. It fosters an environment where learning is continuous, and mistakes are viewed as opportunities to grow. Moreover, humility in medicine translates to better patient care. It encourages us to listen more attentively, empathize deeply, and acknowledge our limitations. It makes us more approachable and relatable to our patients, creating a therapeutic relationship based on trust and respect. So, as we progress in our careers, let's strive to remember the lesson of the styrofoam cup. Our achievements and accolades should not inflate our egos but remind us of the responsibilities that come with our positions. Let's be leaders who serve with humility, keeping the well-being of our patients at the forefront of everything we do. OUR GOALS ⇢ Mondays are the best days for #goalsetting & for reminding yourselves & others of your current goals. Here's a bit more about ours: 1) We aim to focus on #medicalcare, which goes beyond access & quality of #healthcare & looks squarely at balancing the patient-doctor relationship. 2) We aim to balance all of the components of #medical care so everyone is supported & patient well-being is the priority. 3) Our goal is to work with as many companies, governmental agencies & associations across the healthcare spectrum as possible, with a focus on creating ways to improve the medical care environment. 4) Our longterm goal is that with university partners, we will have tangible results for the #MedicalCareCrisis in #SouthCarolina by 2030. We plan to receive national recognition for transforming medical care on the state level; thus becoming a blueprint for others to follow. #MONDAYMOTIVATION ⇢ As patients, what are YOUR goals this week? What are your goals for your medical well-being? What goals do you seek to achieve with your doctors & care team(s)? We encourage you to goal set with your own medical care. We are listening to your goals, as our goals center around patients' goals.
