Last week, our Training Practice Leader Ryan Childers, RMCP® presented with Bo Di Muccio, Ph.D., TSIA’s Distinguished VP of Professional Services, at TSIA World ENVISION in Las Vegas. Their session, titled “Building an AI-Ready PSO: Nurturing Learning and Transformation for Successful AI Integration,” explored the idea that while the integration of AI into PS business models presents unprecedented opportunities for organizations to optimize operations, drive innovation, and improve productivity, it requires development of better consultative soft skills for delivery practitioners to continue to excel. An interesting question was posed during the session: “If AI automates the repetitive work our delivery practitioners currently perform, what’s left?” What’s left is the high-value, human interaction side of service delivery that makes all the difference in the relationships our delivery practitioners have with their customers. How to present Lean Six Sigma project(Health care) in an interview in less than 10 mins : 1. Why this Project? (30 secs) : I'd like to share a Lean Six Sigma project I led where I observed extended patient wait times leading to decreased customer satisfaction. 2. Define the Problem (1 min): We identified major issues from VOC: 🔹Problem Statement: Patient wait times were consistently exceeding 45 mins. 🔹Project Goals: Set a goal to reduce patient wait times by at least 30%. 🔹Stakeholders and Project Team: Engaged key stakeholders, including nursing staff, administrators, and IT specialists. 3. Measure Phase: (1 min) 🔹Baseline Metrics: Established a baseline average patient wait time of 45 mins 🔹Data Collection Methods: Implemented surveys, observed processes, and collected historical data to quantify the current state accurately. 🔹Process Capability : Sigma Value was around 2.5 Sigma 4. Analyze Phase: (2 mins) 🔹Used Pareto charts to identify that 80% of extended wait times were attributed to two primary factors: registration delays and inconsistent staff workload. 🔹Additional Analysis: Conducted time-motion studies to quantify the time spent on each step of the registration process. This revealed that the data entry step was a significant contributor to delays. 5. Improve Phase: (2.5 mins) Implemented Solutions: 🔹Integrated a chatbot system for routine queries, freeing up human resources to handle more complex issues. This further enhanced the efficiency of the call center. 🔹Revised the registration process, leading to a measurable reduction in average wait times from 45 to 30 minutes within three months. 6. Results: (1 mins) 🔹Achieved a 33% reduction in patient wait times, exceeding the initially set goal of 30%. 🔹 Customer satisfaction increased by 50% 🔹 Sigma value increased from 2.5 to 3.8 7. Control Phase: (1 min) 🔹 Control Chart : Use IMR chart and identified wait times are with in Control limits 🔹Sustainment Plan: Implemented standard operating procedures, resulting in sustained improvements with ongoing average wait times consistently below 30 minutes. 8. Conclusion: (30 sec) Project Impact: Enhanced patient satisfaction scores by 20%, directly correlating with the reduction in wait times. By applying a quantitative approach throughout the DMAIC process, we not only addressed the problem but also measured the impact of each phase, ensuring tangible improvements in patient satisfaction and operational efficiency in the healthcare setting. #LeanSixSigma #CustomerExperience #TransformationSuccess 🚀✨
