What is the "right" maintenance strategy for your production assets? 🛠️ Robust maintenance and condition monitoring are vital for ensuring optimal plant performance and driving maximum operational efficiency. But the right maintenance strategy can vary greatly, depending on production line complexity, the age and type of machinery, the line's operational hours, and many other factors. One key aspect to consider is the criticality of the production asset to the line. For business-critical plant, such as the filler on a bottling line for example, continuous condition monitoring would likely be the best approach - leveraging a cloud-based platform like RS Industria. For less critical assets, periodic condition monitoring and maintenance at a lower frequency might be sufficient. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) are two effective strategies, which offer a comprehensive approach to preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. These approaches aim to minimise downtime, reduce maintenance costs, and improve equipment lifespan.
