Ahead of the 14th annual GAI Europe next week, we've had the chance to sit down with thought leaders from Vayda to discuss the agriculture sector's most prominent trend: regenerative agriculture. While many focus on carbon sequestration and monetization as the drivers, Vayda makes the case that transitioning farms to regenerative practices has myriad benefits to farm financial outcomes and can be done with minimal risk. There's so much more potential in Agriculture than has been utilized today. Come to think of it, practically every human has to eat. After FoodHills started in 2020 we have run a wholesale and retail food store that operated in Ogun & Lagos state, Nigeria, provided economic analysis for clients setting up factories for a Rice Mill and Garri Mill, provided Technical Coordination to help startup an Agricultural Institution among several great ventures. Getting into the wholesale and retail was quite interesting as it wasn't so long we found out transportation costs might be a problem. Having technical experience that can be leveraged on, we moved quickly to collaborate with a new Delivery Business, providing guidance on the economics of running a business, helping to have them setup with all the right tools and providing Tech support. In return we got discounts to deliver food items to customers. We stood out from the traditional food stores as our food items came from the farm straight to the customers door step (collaboration with farmers, a lot of planning and logistics was in play to achieve this) and the business grew fast. Most importantly, we collected data along the way from every single activity. Not too long, we got the call from Moses Green Life Farms to help startup an Agricultural Institution and what an amazing project it was. The next few months and even years are going to be exciting for agriculture and this post is extending a warm hand to collaborate with every Agriculture enthusiast, Agropreneur and Professional. Here's something I know for sure, 'The market for agriculture is now and the future'. Link to FoodHills Instagram is in comments

Tommorrow June 24 the NASEM Board on Agriculture And Natural Resource is hosting two webinars on critically important topics: First Avian Flu followed by Agriculture and Sustainable Aviation Fuel. I have the privilege of moderating the session on Ag & SAF. Agriculture and Natural Resources are at the very foundation of a biobased economy, with SAF as just one component. The challenge is to have enlightened policies and incentives aligned with improving farmer economics coupled with incentives for farmers to convert to more regenerative production practices. The economics of the bioeconomy must work for farmers and rural communities or the biobased economy will fail. We have a group of outstanding speakers to discuss topics spanning the opportunity, the consequences, improving CI scores of farm derived feedstocks, to the principles that must underpin good policies leading to the intended outcomes. We are viewing the SAF discussion as a case study for the broader bioeconomy Please join the conversation using the link below
