If you're seeing massive internal data differences from your GA4 data, it's likely because many of your users are starting to use ad block, and the use of ad block continues to increase year over year. and is showing no sign of slowing down, especially in mature markets. This can impact your first-party data collection, conversion data, ad optimisation and more. If you're generating thousands or millions of visitors per month, the ad block data can really add up to a large discrepancy. To get around it, you can try using a custom subdomain within the Google Tag Manager server container and rendering your tracking server side will also help you bypass several browsers' Intelligent tracking prevention algorithms.

Hey SEOs! Anyone else experiencing a traffic drop lately? I've been seeing a noticeable decrease in visits to my site, and I'm wondering if it could be connected to the recent Google Search Console (GSC) glitches. For those who missed it, GSC was having trouble pulling the latest data for like 100 hours or so. Just a hunch, but could this be impacting website traffic for some of us? Curious to hear your experiences! Let me know in the comments if you've seen similar traffic drops or if you think there might be another explanation. #organictraffic #GSCGlitches #SEOExpert

Concentrate to properly set ad_personalization in Consent Mode v2 I still believe it is best to create a full implementation as we do not know when ad_user_data gets the same treatment as other flags. In such a case, you would have to go through everything again. Do the homework now but if you are out of time, make just ad_personalization to work.
Consent Mode V2 Google will map ad_storage state automatically to ad_user_data. Thus if you just have a Consent Mode V1 implementation, you’ll be able to use ad services (wrt sending user data to Ads) without having to upgrade your setup. I’m guessing this is to prevent the GA4-Ads link from breaking (as it requires ad_user_data) come March 2024. ad_personalization still requires the state to be manually set.

💥 It's action time! If you use Google services and market in Europe, your audience & conversion data is under threat. Act before 6th March 2024 to minimise the risk of data loss. ⚖ The DMA is cracking down on gatekeepers. 💨 Google's response is Consent Mode v2 (CMv2) to meet privacy compliance. 🛡 Businesses need to update their websites and apps to use (CMv2). 📉 Inaction risks data loss after 6th March. Simo covers some of the particulars in his post. I've written up our advice to clients in this article: https://lnkd.in/eRTJKFxm Yes - it looks a bit technical but ignoring this won't make it go away. Privacy compliance and data transparency is only going to ramp up in 2024 (and beyond) - embrace the change and be conscientious with your data use!

There’s a question going around: How might some of the largest organizations take steps to educate themselves on key advertising factors that were once quite easy and simple to learn thanks to cookies - now that things are changing? Well, an API that seems to be extensively garnering the intrigue of many within the adtech world today may replace what once was. Would you say data collection has now become more indirect than possibly ever before with this new API, or do you think it’s still very much like third-party cookies? #AdTech #Cookies #API
