Business development is SCARY and it isnt for everyone. Some great tips from Lorraine below- My best advice is to go in knowing some information about the prospective client - if you can go in with an already secured product that is literally WAITING for them, then even better. Relationships are the key to recruiting but doesn't every lasting bond start with a simple "Hello"? Recruiting is About Connecting, Not Pitching Job Descriptions Are you pitching a job or truly connecting? If you rely on a fixed script or agenda, you’re pitching. From this strict ‘time-to-hire” mindset, you’re steering the conversation towards your own goal. If you’re genuinely interested in learning from the other person and open to changing your perspective based on what you hear, you’re building a relationship. An authentic approach is rare but powerful. People can tell the difference. Recruiting, like sales, is human-centered. It’s about understanding and valuing the other person, not just pushing an agenda. Building meaningful relationships is the key to building an authentic and rich pipeline of talent both capable and inspired to help you deliver on strategy.

“Sorry, where did you say you’re calling from?”  If you've just started in Recruitment or you're a small agency who's just entered the market Here's some friendly (but honest) food for thought.  1. Nobody knows who you are  2. Nobody knows the company you're calling from 3. You don't have a network yet to lean on  4, You don't have any credibility  The best thing you can do right now is start building your personal brand online.  → Share how you're/ your agency is doing → Share valuable advice as you learn → Start networking and building relationships on LinkedIn  It takes years to build a positive reputation by simply placing good candidates and doing good business.  But if you start leveraging the power of LinkedIn from the get-go  → More people will hear about you  → You'll start building credibility quicker  → You can build out your network faster  → You'll get ahead quicker than the people you started with  You cannot expect to build credibility and authority in your market when clients and prospects → have never heard of you → don't trust that you know what you're doing.  Agree? 👀 #Recruitment #InboundLeads #PersonalBranding

How do we do it? 🤝 Do your research 🤝 Build rapport 🤝 Establish trust 🤝 Active listening 🤝 Finding commonalities 🤝 Check in often Why should we do it? 🤝 Building meaningful connections with our customers/clients/candidates is imperative to the business. When people feel comfortable around you you're able to better leverage your influence. Think about a time someone tried to sell you something. Did they take a personal approach?
