Theory Wellness on Thursday celebrated the grand opening of its Trenton dispensary for adult-use cannabis sales with a $10,000 check presentation to the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). The dispensary is located at 461 New York Ave. Representatives from TASK were on hand to receive the funds at an event that included remarks from Brandon Pollock, CEO of Theory Wellness, Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora and Councilwoman Crystal Feliciano. Situated conveniently off Route 1 with ample parking, Theory Wellness was the first cannabis dispensary to open in Trenton and has already established a strong community presence through its medical sales. Through its expansion to recreational sales, Theory aims to provide customers with a wide range of quality cannabis products at the most affordable rates in the state. The Next Cannabis Frontier: Kentucky Why? The cannabis market in Kentucky is poised to make waves with its new medical program kicking off very soon. In October 2024, a lottery will award 48 new retail licenses between the 11 regions in the attached image. With a population of 4,500,000, this means there will be one store for every 93,750 residents, which is more than Ohio, one of the strongest markets in the US. We estimate this market has the potential to allow each store to hit an average of $5M in revenue, with some of the best stores reaching north of $10M. Real estate is required to apply and CannDev is currently scouring the state for the locations with the highest revenue potential. Take a look at more info about the process in Kentucky here, and sign up for access to CannDev off-market real estate deals: https://rebrand.ly/25ief7f

New York is on track to smash $700M in #cannabis sales this year! 2023 was a bumpy ride for the Empire State, with only one licensed dispensary at the start and just 32 by year’s end. Fast forward to 2024, and we're witnessing an epic turnaround. The state’s licensed dispensaries raked in $260.6M from January to June alone. And with weekly store openings, this momentum shows no signs of slowing down. The secret? A blend of policy shifts and enforcement efforts. The New York Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) and the Cannabis Control Board (CCB) are working to ensure a robust, equitable market. With 137 dispensaries and eight delivery-only operators now serving adult-use customers, New York’s #recreationalmarijuana and #medicalcannabis scene is buzzing with potential. As OCM Policy Director John Kagia said, “We are seeing very green shoots in the doors we have open and the folks that are getting open.” Are you a #NewYork dispensary? Learn how you can keep even more of your record-breaking revenue by using the performance-based marketing power of HighRewards. Learn more ⬇️

You have to set the stage before telling the story… Our Sonoma Valley Cannabis Group’s web site once declared in a headline, “Success!”. And it was true at the time. After 4 long years of cajoling and discussion, the CITY OF SONOMA had finally come to permit 2 walk-in retail cannabis dispensaries. Unfortunately, even though the first dispensary has been open for nearly 2 years, its owner, Erich Pearson of SPARC, along with his Strategic Advisor and part owner of the Sonoma shop, Amy O’Gorman Jenkins, have been lobbying the city to stop the process for a second dispensary. On September 8, 2021, Mr. Pearson told the city council that he had to close 2 shops in San Francisco because he “couldn’t pay the bills”, and he was facing a 1.2 million dollar rebuild. He did not, however, disclose that he was preparing to open a new dispensary and consumption lounge on Polk Street in San Francisco. Poor on the one hand, prosperous on the other? The result was that the city council voted to support what amounts to a city-sponsored monopoly and that for the foreseeable future, Mr. Pearson will not face any competition that would provide medical patients with better prices, more product choices, and additional services. Ms Jenkins, who runs her own lobbying firm, Precision Advocacy, and is also the Legislative Advocate for the California Cannabis Industry Association (CCIA), is a native to Sonoma. Her ties to the local community afford her a unique position to influence local policy. She was a contributor to the campaigns of cannabis-friendly candidates in 2018 and 2021. Most recently, one of those candidates, who eventually became Mayor, appointed Ms. Jenkins to the local Planning Commission. More on this later. Appearances are everything. Contributions can create avenues for corruption, either grand or petty. Cronyism and favors to rig a market are unacceptable. #boycottsparc #medicalmarijuana #cannabis #cannabisbusiness #cannabisindustry #cannabiscommunity #cannabisretail #cannabismarketing #dispensary #sonoma #cannabisnews #sonomavalleycannabisgroup
