Repetitive measurement in superconducting qubits is a core operation that requires nontrivial calibration. Beyond getting high fidelity readout on a single qubit, one must also consider deleterious effects such as leakage to higher states, residual resonator photons, qubit cross-couplings, and avoiding poor T1 regions. In our recent paper published in PRL, we show how our open-loop optimizer can efficiently navigate this complex optimization landscape and achieve the state-of-the-art performance we rely on for our QEC experiments. https://lnkd.in/gKuhrTgs
