ASIC-Based Zone Triggering in Latest Oscilloscope Units Now incorporated into its MXO series oscilloscopes, Rohde & Schwarz is using an ASIC-based approach to deliver accelerated zone triggering capabilities. This allows a 600kwaveforms/s update rate to be achieved, with <1.45µs blind time between trigger events. As a result, users can benefit from pinpoint isolation of events of interest that would simply not have been possible using conventional triggering methods (such as edge triggering). It will be of value in tasks like taking power integrity measurements and electro-magnetic interference (EMI) debug work. This triggering capability will now be a standard feature on all MXO 4, MXO 5 and MXO 5C series units, beginning with version 2.2 firmware. The firmware can be downloaded for free, thus allowing existing MXO users to upgrade their instrumentation.
