As business leaders, we need to be the change we want to see in our communities.

Last years annual survey was a massive success. Not only because we received really rich data, allowing us to create 5 goals to work towards across the year, but importantly we worked more closely with our Local Authority partners in Sport, Activity and Movement. 👍🏽With their input, we shaped the 2022/23 survey to meet all our needs, enabling their input to co-own it. 👍🏽We have met regularly to focus on the 5 goals, achieving more as a group rather than separately 👍🏽As a result they have felt a stronger link to the feedback and have been able to use the results to shape their development plans and support. 👍🏽Designing this years survey with this foundation means we are in a stronger position again. The survey is **live** until 22nd January! Please share with clubs and settings that you work with or support. https://lnkd.in/ewYfe4Za #Systems #systemsleadership #collaberation #partnership
📢 The Annual Sport and Physical Activity Provider Survey is now LIVE 📢 https://lnkd.in/ew4fY_fY * If you are a club or community setting, we want to hear from you! It’s been 15 years since Kingsbridge Community Sports began its journey, exploring possibilities of community-led sports facilities development, in South Birmingham. A lot has changed in this time, but the question remains, what will Birmingham City Council decide to do with Holders Lane Sports Fields? The old derelict changing block (featured in this video) has now been demolished, but little else has been done at Holders Lane in recent years. Local grassroots sports clubs still need recreational facilities for their teams. The sports fields themselves are protected through Fields in Trust, but significant investment is still needed to mitigate against the regular flooding. So what’s next? Will Birmingham City Council’s current financial crisis reopen conversations about a collaborative partnership with local community groups, or will the open spaces once entrusted to the Council for the benefit of local communities; be eventually sold for development? Sustainability, ESG & Social Responsibility | Strategy, Innovation, Impact. *Lead with empathy, bring people together: create impact
I've just seen this campaign by Newcastle United Football Club ⚽, and as a creator of social marketing campaigns, i loved it! https://lnkd.in/eT6iBv2t Beyond the jersey pilot to "feel" the stadium and the communication, I like what they are doing: 💓 There is a purpose: that footbal should be enjoyed by everyone 💡 It has data backing the purpose: 23% of fans with a disability feel incapable of attending matches because of accesibility issues. 🤝 Alliance and collaboration: it has a partnership with RNID, which provides credibility, but above all, makes sure it is actually sensible to the audiences issues. 📈 Keeps a "Shared Prosperity" mindset: no one benefits from greater audiences than the team itself, and fans get the benefit of living the experience. ✔ It's part of a greater inclusion initiative that is carried out in the actual St. James' Park, like sensory rooms, accesible spaces, personal assistants, audio commentary, etc. Enjoying footbal sounds like a given, but unfortunately, for some people it is not. It is incredible that they are providing the conditions to bring this experience closer to more people. #PositiveImpact #Inclusion #SocialMarketing

Things Have Gotten Brighter at Alan Ray Oval 💡🏉 The season may have come to an end, but the lights are still on with the excitement of our recently upgraded light poles at Alan Ray Oval. With funding from AFL NSW/ACT, we were allocated $150,000 for the instalment of a 200 lux LED lighting system, which will now signify a whole range of opportunities for the club. Under the ACT Community Football Facilities Fund (ACT CFFF), which aims to develop infrastructure required for community football to thrive, in areas such as change rooms and lighting. This improvement allows us to expand possibilities of the grounds. Increasing access to the oval outside the pre-existing hours and on and off seasons, supporting our players training and game time with enhanced visibility while also reducing wait time significantly to reach full capacity. However the opportunities reach farther, now with opportunities for night games, extra community usage and potential for professional AFL and AFLW competition. Even more importantly, it strengthens the value of our football club among the community reaching benefits beyond the bounds of the oval. “The value of a Community Football Club study undertaken by La Trobe University found that for every $1 spent to run a community football club, there is at least a $4.40 return in social value. This “social value” is measured in terms of increased social connectedness, wellbeing and mental health status, employment outcomes, physical health, and support of other community groups,” said Ainslie Group CEO, Simon Patterson. For every one player that the football club reaches, at least ten people in the community are also reached, which helps drives our motivation to continually better the club and its facilities, thus I turn giving to our community network. We would like to thank AFL NSW/ACT, and its Venues & Government Partnerships manager of AFL NSW/ACT, Michael Stanton, for their collaboration with us on the upgrade. We can’t wait for what opportunities are in store. #ainslie #canberralocals #afl #ainsliegroup #aflcanberra #AFLNSWACT #canberra #aussierulesfootball #canberranews

🏈 Join Us in Empowering Lives Through American Football! 🏈 Hello LinkedIn, Apologies for the 'non-work' related post, I'm sure this will invigorate the usual detractors...! Today, I'm reaching out to share a heartfelt appeal and an exciting opportunity to make a difference in our community. I am a proud member of the Aberdeen Roughnecks, an American football team that is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and empowering environment for individuals from all walks of life. 🤝 American football is more than just a game to us; it's a platform for teamwork, resilience, and personal growth. However, we recognize that the financial barriers associated with the sport can be challenging, particularly for those from disadvantaged backgrounds. We have a policy of not pricing anyone out of playing the game but this presents challenges. 🚫💸 We are actively seeking partnerships and sponsorships to help us: Support People from Disadvantaged Backgrounds: Ensure that financial constraints do not prevent passionate individuals from participating in the sport. Revive Our Youth Program: We aim to nurture the next generation of players, imparting valuable life skills and fostering a sense of community. The recent pandemic had a serious impact on our ability to sustain our youth set up. We're looking turn things around but we need support. By contributing, you are not just supporting a sports team; you are investing in the potential of countless individuals and helping us build a stronger, more inclusive community. 💪🏽🤗 If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about how to support us, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We are open to discussing customized partnership models that align with your objectives and values. Feel free to DM me or drop your email in the comments, and let’s start the conversation. p.s we're carrying out taster sessions in Aberdeen, Laurencekirk and Peterhead over the next few weeks - if you know anyone who might be interested please share. #CommunitySupport #AmericanFootball #SponsorshipOpportunity #InclusivityInSports #Teamwork #YouthEmpowerment

We were asked the question yesterday regarding the wider benefits of our proposals for the Home of Football a new purpose built stadium and sports complex for Sheffield FC and Sheffield Eagles. Simply put… The social benefits of the new sports complex include fostering community cohesion through shared experiences at events held in the 5000-seater stadium. The purpose-built sports hall for wheelchair rugby promotes inclusivity, offering adaptive facilities for athletes with disabilities, contributing to a more diverse and accessible sports environment. Moreover, the football and cricket academies will serve as hubs for talent development, providing aspiring athletes with training and educational opportunities. This not only elevates the level of local sports but also contributes to the broader societal emphasis on health and fitness. Economically, the sports complex becomes a catalyst for job creation, from event staffing to coaching positions within the academies. Increased sports tourism, driven by events at the stadium and academy programs, can stimulate local businesses such as restaurants, hotels, and shops. The influx of visitors and heightened community engagement can lead to improved infrastructure and a positive cycle of economic growth within the region. #sportsarchitecture #stadia #hcd #thoughtsofanarchitect #sheffieldfc #sheffieldeagles
