Mastering the Placement of Icewave Patches for Optimal Pain Relief in a patient with De Quervain's Tenosynovitis. Today we turn the spotlight onto a significantly beneficial intervention tool - Icewave Patches and demonstrate best practices to place these patches for maximum efficacy, particularly for those suffering from de Quervain's tenosynovitis, a painful condition affecting the tendons on the thumb side of your wrist. STEP 1 The first step is to apply the brown patch directly over the most painful area or epicenter of discomfort. This patch acts as the fulcrum from which our pain relief strategy will pivot. STEP 2 Next comes the placement of the white patch. Instead of applying it haphazardly, consider key points on an imaginary clock around the painful area (e.g., 12, 3, 6, and 9). Why these points? It's all about finding the best combination for your patient. The patches are polarised and work together. STEP 3 Allow the white patch to reside in each position for up to 10 minutes, keenly observing its effectiveness. Remember, every person's body responds differently to pain stimulus, and therefore the optimal configuration will vary from person to person. The patient we discussed earlier experienced relief almost immediately! A key fact to note, these Icewave patches can deliver their pain-relief functions for up to 72 hours. Advising your patient to keep the patches on until they no longer feel the benefits maximizes their utility. However, there must be a mandatory 12-24 hour 'patch-free' break for the skin to rest before the next application. Icewave patches aren't just patches. They are a gateway to managing and mitigating pain effectively. But do bear in mind, the original placement that worked the best for you might not have the same effect next time as your body adapts and changes. This is another reason why patients must not wear them continuously. Remember, pain relief isn't one-size-fits-all. It's all about finding what works best for the individual. And remember, Icewave patches aren't just a quick fix for immediate relief, but a means for better pain management and improved quality of life. So, let's go forth and pave the way for a pain-free existence, one patch at a time! Thank you Jane Rooney for sharing your preliminary results. I would like to emphasise the importance of this study and share my personal experience with a knee injury. Being a hand therapist, this was a whole new learning curve for me, but I applied the latest insights and technology on healing to the choices I made with regards to my healing. I fell down 2 steps and sustained a Grade 3 PCL and MCL tear plus I sprained ACL and LCL. The PCL/MCL combination has a poor prognosis. My personal circumstances meant that I could not have surgery and had to heal the ligaments myself. As I was on holiday, my MRI was delayed by 2 weeks and because it was post ski season, I only got my PCL brace in week 4. So I used kinesio tape for stability from day 1 and then used it to reduce oedema once I had my brace. This is what I have learnt about healing ligaments and bone: 1. Thanks to Dr Robert O Becker’s work we know that light using ferroelectricity and pizoelectricity regenerates ligament and bone. 2. Cortisone injections stop the regeneration of tissue. 3. Light therapy in the form of UVA/ B and infra red create the ferroelectricity and pizoelecrricity - whilst in Mauritius I used the sun. Once I returned I use phototherapy patches. 4. I have an ultrasound machine so I used it daily. 5. Aggressive Physiotherapy is not recommended. There is no need to gain range. Once the ligament has healed and the tissue settles, ROM will return. 6. Vibration over rides pain. I used it to regain ROM. 7. Energy healing works. I went to a healer and she used tuning forks, Himalayan music bowls and magnetism. The reason it works is because the body heals best when in a parasympathetic state. Deep relaxation aids healing. 8. GANS - gas in a nano state works. My healer applied GANS patches which were worn 24/7 for 6 weeks. Later I applied the gel. It helped me heal much faster. At 10 weeks, literally overnight, my ligaments healed. We need to combine specific bracing with all these modalities to help patients heal faster. We need to reassure patients that ligaments CAN heal. This notion that a certain grade of injury won’t heal and can only benefit from surgery is not true. But, we need to believe that ourselves. The hardest part of my injury was letting go of my centralised ideas and believing in the decentralised approach. The second hardest part is finding my quads again! Lastly patella pain is not necessarily a biomechanical issue. Adequate kinesio taping will take away patella pain. If you would like my presentation on the science of light please comment below with your email address or send me a DM.
Exciting news that our research team Steph Filbay et al at Melb Uni have been awarded $1.7 mill to conduct a RCT comparing outcomes of Cross Bracing versus ACL reconstruction surgery to manage ACL rupture- unfortunately this injury is an increasing statistic especially amongst our young sports people-offered now to patients in Melb and Sydney with Dr Cross and AProfRooney #DrTomCross#AProfJaneRooney#AProfStephFilbay#CrossBracing#PrahranSportsMedicineMlebourne#StadiumSportsClinicSydney

I welcome you to my interview with Kimberly Schipke, a biomedical engineer with over six years of research experience in tissue engineering, cellular / tissue mechanobiology, and medical device design. She has presented her work at the Biomedical Engineering Society, the Institute of Biological Engineers and an elite School of Biotechnology in Baramati, India. She has one of the greatest minds in science today, due to her enquiring mind, destined to explore new frontiers in search of the truth, leading her into the realm of author, inventor, educator, scientist and healer. A health crisis inspired Kimberly to study groundbreaking new treatments, as well as integrative and ancient therapies. She studied under nuclear and astrophysicist, Dr. Elizabeth Rauscher and Dr. Valerie Hunt, author of “Infinite Mind.” Kimberly became a certified clinical thermographer and used infrared cameras to study temperature changes on and around the body during energy-based treatment modalities like chi gong. In 2012, she began studying Biofield Tuning which uses audible sound like sonar around the body and tunes the body like an instrument. She is now the International Class Coordinator and former Research Director for the Biofield Tuning Institute and the International Resource. Kimberly and I met in 2023 and have been planning something special for you. We will be launching a course on using Thermography as a therapeutic assessment and treatment tool. #kimberlyschipke #handconsultsa #robynmidgley #thermography https://lnkd.in/dxpQgSBC
