I concur without a doubt that the incorporation of printed sand molds or printed sand cores is inevitable in this market. However, utilizing sand-printed molds does not contribute significantly to the construction and engineering of the HPDC process or dies; there is no valid comparison. Where printed sand can promptly contribute is in the advancement of gigacasting. It aids in comprehending shape or packaging, initiating performance exploration, and conducting certain tests. Setting prototypes aside, given the still relatively low volumes of electric vehicles (EVs), printed sand can find application in production. I am eagerly anticipating the unveiling of substantial Body in White (BIW) or structural castings resulting from this process. There is little doubt in my mind that #sand3Dprinting for metal casting applications is coming of age. Tesla, General Motors (in this story) but also BMW Manufacturing Co., LLC are leading the way with voxeljet AG and ExOne technologies. But larger companies like Laempe Mössner Sinto GmbH and Chinese companies like Kocel Steel Foundry Co., LTD are coming too.
