I help you teach team collaboration to your software engineering students so they learn the human-side of software development. Your students will thank you later.
Most businesses have a hierarchy with someone in charge. This seems the 'rational' choice. Some companies follow the 'human' choice. This is what the software company https://buff.ly/3vHm0s9 does. They have no hierarchy. Teams form and people make decisions as required. They trust their staff. Thanks to Corporate Rebels for posting about Mindera in their email newsletter. Go grab Mindera's Handbook to see how they do this great work from their website and set about making changes in the way you do your work. I for one, am also going to start telling my students about this way of working too, as they practice the things I already tell my students. It's not just me. People do this stuff. They should aspire to work with companies like this, or start their own.

Positioning Brands as the Authority in their Market to Increase leads, sales and revenues using our Accelerator Process™
Ever feel like time, that elusive resource, is constantly slipping through your fingers? Here's your game-plan. Imagine how it would be if you could leave your workstation at the end of the day without that nagging sensation of uncompleted tasks. Sounds dreamy, right? It all starts with the power of systems. Let's face it, we all have those tedious tasks that keep cropping up. So why not let automation take charge? It's like having an invisible assistant working tirelessly in the background. For instance, are you constantly responding to similar queries? Time to employ text expanders and put an end to the monotony of typing the same responses over and over. Or, are you battling an avalanche of emails? Here's a smarter move - set filters that auto-archive emails bearing the infamous 'unsubscribe' word. And the deluge of manual data entry? That’s your cue to bring an EA/VA onboard. Yes, setting up your automation might require an initial time investment, but picture a future where you've saved thousands of hours. Doesn’t that outweigh an hour or so of setup? Your time is precious. Let's reclaim it. Share your tips on how you’ve used automation and systems in your work life!

I learned a new principle in managing workloads and being productive. In the world of information we get distracted a lot, I would in the past :). However, I am overcoming it now. Here it is: The Law of Three It essentially means to decide on what one, two or max three things are important and try to focus on those alone. Have you tried it? #productivity #worklifebalance #career #tech

Work smarter, not harder I have always admired individuals who can find efficient solutions to complex tasks. I believe it to be a valuable talent. Allow me to explain the meaning behind this phrase. Regardless of our occupation, most of us encounter repetitive tasks in our jobs. Often, we find them dull and tedious. However, we continue to perform them because they are part of our job and cannot be avoided. Or can they? It is not always possible to completely avoid these situations, but it is definitely possible to use them as opportunities to simplify our lives. Let me provide an example. A friend of mine encountered a similar situation at work. The company maintained a record of all their certificates, both employee and equipment-related, in notes on the manager's laptop. The process of managing this data was laborious and monotonous. Recognizing this as an opportunity, my friend took the initiative and automated the process to a great extent. Through the creation of a Google Sheets file, some research, and the addition of a simple script, the process became automated, freeing employees from manual involvement. I find this story inspiring. I strongly believe that this approach is applicable to our personal lives as well. Many of us have repetitive tasks that we perform day after day. For instance, I am currently trying to simplify the process of managing my finances. Although there are numerous free apps available for financial management, I wanted something more tailored to my specific needs. Despite its imperfections, I find joy in continually refining and enhancing the process of controlling my finances. Share in the comments which aspects of your life or job you have automated and made more efficient. #programming #improvement #automation
