I can’t believe I’ve been at Deel for four months+ now. Time is seriously flying by and I couldn’t be more grateful I landed at a company like Deel for a few reasons. 👯♀️The People: I work with some of the most empathetic, humble folks. We have a team that’s innovative and flowing with creativity, which is why the people make me feel so lucky to be here! 🌎 Hire from Anywhere: in a world where we have so many talented folks everywhere, why limit ourselves to where we can hire? Hire the best talent, wherever they are. I love that I work for a company that’s mission revolves around this & helps support so many organizations with their international workforce. 🌴 Work from anywhere culture: why limit where your employees are working from?! Instead encourage them to find where they are most productive and not limited to exploration if that’s what their soul craves and I guarantee you, you have folks willing to work 10x harder for your organization to be successful. Majority care for Deel’s success here and it is so refreshing to see at a company! 😌 Deel as a company: It is not all easy, but when you are working for an organization where you truly believe in the mission & their product market fit - it makes waking up for work that much more exciting daily! I started a new role recently (more details to follow). There's a lot that is incredible about it, here are a few things:  - I'm part of a company working as a force for good.    - I'm the 5th member of a brand new team, we're creating everything from scratch, even our office building.  - We're already talking about flow, owning our mistakes and being ourselves. And how to use our strengths to cover each other's needs. It feels good to be celebrated, nurtured and supported as myself as well as to look at ways to build trust, encourage challenge, expand skills and find a joy in our work, both individually and as a team. My goal: To show up as the best version of myself.  With that in mind, I'm trying to let go (at least a little!) - of making mistakes, of being perfect, of how I want everything to be and just to go with the flow! That's not about up-skilling or doing anything apart from allowing it to be so.   And so, I will try to do a little less thinking and a little more being so that I can be a little more... me.  

Staying optimistic isn't always easy. We've all faced setbacks that leave us longing for the past or fearing the future. But what if we could reframe our challenges and cultivate gratitude instead? As I've grown in my career, I've learned the importance of focusing on the present - the good things, the small wins, and the experiences that bring a smile, even on tough days. This shift in perspective has been a game-changer, allowing me to move forward with a more positive and productive outlook. This week, I'm grateful for working with an amazing Learning & Development team at iPipeline. They are very good at fostering positivity even on the toughest days. 😄 What are you grateful for in your professional life? Happy New Year! Buon Anno Nuovo! 🎉 For those of you in the Job Search, it's been a rough 2023! I've faced many challenges as a career coach, the biggest one being able to better motivate my job seekers when there is not even a glimmer of a light at the end of a long tunnel. What have I learned through all of this? I've realized that it's not necessarily about the "end goal" of landing a role. (Yes, I know that reality dictates that we find a means to support ourselves and our families, and that is extremely stressful.) However, I understand now that it's more about the journey of discovery and focusing on growing as a software engineer by building new things, finding like-minded people to "geek out" with and immersing oneself into the industry to learn as much as possible. I encourage my job seekers to take advantage of this time to really learn, build and have fun as engineers as much as possible. I invite everyone to embrace this New Year with a fresh perspective and believe that "now" is more real that an unknown future.
