I think there is a huge disconnect between employers and employees. I think the main reason is that many corporations try to force a family culture but ultimately work is not family. Yes you can love the people you work with, you can even love the company but at the end of the day the relationship is transactional. The company will keep you as long as they see value, and you will work as long as you feel treated fairly. I don't know why people shy away from this fact. If we are transparent about the relationship, it works better for everyone. #Work #WorkCulture

Strategic Visionary and Operations Leader in Private Equity | Pioneering People Excellence and Operational Efficiency for Organizational Growth
🚀 Time to Share Some Thoughts on Workplace "Family" Culture! 🤝👨👩👧👦 If you've been on the job market or attended a new job orientation recently, you've likely heard the term "family" thrown around when describing company culture. It's a warm and fuzzy concept, right? But let's dive into why it might not be the best approach and what we can do instead! First off, it's fantastic that companies want to foster close-knit teams, but when they market themselves as a "family," it can lead to some unexpected challenges. Here's why: 1️⃣ Personal and professional lines blur: Not everyone wants their work buddies to know everything about their personal lives, and pushing a "family" culture can make it awkward when boundaries are crossed. 2️⃣ Exaggerated loyalty can backfire: Encouraging unwavering loyalty might sound great, but it can lead to employees feeling pressured to do whatever it takes to keep their job, even if it's unhealthy. 3️⃣ Power dynamics get tricky: When you start comparing employers to parents and employees to children, things can get complicated, and employees might feel unempowered to speak up or stand their ground. 4️⃣ Masking issues becomes common: In close-knit teams, employees may be reluctant to report wrongdoing for fear of damaging relationships within the "family." So, what's the solution? Let's shift our perspective: 🌟 Define high performance and purpose clearly: Let's focus on setting expectations and purpose, ensuring everyone knows their role and boundaries. 🌟 Set clear boundaries: Be transparent about work hours, encourage time off, and support employees in advocating for their well-being. 🌟 Acknowledge the temporary nature of work relationships: It's okay for employees to move on when their time with your company is up; let's be candid about it and help them exit respectfully. In summary, it's time to ditch the "family" label and embrace a culture that respects boundaries, promotes purpose, and acknowledges the transactional nature of work relationships. 🚀 Let's create workplaces where growth and well-being thrive without the family ties! #WorkplaceCulture #HR #EmployeeExperience #Leadership #Teamwork https://lnkd.in/gVG99KCE

For every one employee beating their own drum, you need another who lets their work speak for themselves. If you don't have that kind of balance in your organization or team, and if you don't acknowledge the employees who don't market themselves enough, then you are not fostering a conducive work culture. Thoughts?? #worklifeharmony #wellbeingatwork

Dear Corporate Managements Don't crib about loyalty. Build a work culture that fosters a sense of attachment and belonginness at the workplace. Make sure you keep the employees' urge and love to work for you intact and growing, every single day. What you need is not loyal employees, but highly productive, engaging and highly enthusiastic employees. Needless to say, they are self motivated too. You need to do very few good (right) things. 1. Mend your micromanagement behavior 2. Remove politics 3. Remove the sense of fear and insecurity of a job loss, no matter what 4. Pay market rates and incentives 5. Give freedom to express freewill in thoughts and ideas 6. Give them flexibility and trust their abilities 7. Let them go home by the end of office hours Watch the magic. #greatworkculture #corporateworld #venkyvibes
