Here are some of the key trends to watch: Increased focus on alternative proteins: Plant-based and cell-cultured meat is poised to take a larger chunk of the market, influencing how traditional beef producers operate. Procurement will likely involve incorporating alternative proteins into product lines or sourcing them strategically to meet changing consumer preferences. Growing demand for transparency and traceability: Consumers are increasingly interested in knowing where their food comes from and how it's raised. This will necessitate more robust tracking systems throughout the supply chain, allowing procurement specialists to source beef from farms that meet specific sustainability or ethical production standards. But to preemptively ban something from being manufactured or sold in your state simply because you don't like it comes across like you're throwing a temper tantrum because your mom tried to feed you peas. These types of decisions are short-sighted and will have a lasting impact on the growth of innovation in these states and likely beyond.
