We just love this story about beginning teacher Jaimee Pearson who is kicking off her career at her old primary school, St Monica's Primary Richmond, and turning some of her own teachers into colleagues. Current teacher Helen Harper fondly recalls Jaimee in her Year 5 class and isn't surprised she has come back to "the most beautiful little community". 25-year-old Jaimee is the youngest of four generations in her family to attend St Monica's, where her mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and countless cousins have spent their formative school years. On this School Principals' Day, let's go above and beyond to celebrate the remarkable leaders who infuse our schools with passion, purpose, and possibility. Behind every successful school stands a visionary principal, shaping futures and leaving indelible marks on the hearts and minds of all who pass through their doors. Here are some ideas: Acts of Kindness: Encourage students and staff to perform random acts of kindness throughout the day and dedicate them to your principal. Professional Development Opportunities: Invest in your principal's professional growth by providing opportunities for further training, networking, or attending educational conferences. Community Service Project: In honor of your principal, organize a community service project in partnership with your school to give back to the local community. Create a Wall of Gratitude: Identify a prominent spot in the school where students, staff, and parents can pen their heartfelt words and expressions of gratitude for the principal. Unveiling this wall will be a powerful testament to the principal's influence and the appreciation they command. #SchoolSpirit #ThankAPrincipal #SchoolPrincipalsDay

The importance of role models in leadership can’t be underestimated. In combination with adressing the basic human need of being seen and heard it’s a powerful thing and a big responsibility as a leader to work with every day. Just to be there, present, in the moment and listen and givning all the attention to one person is a superpower we need to handle with care. This is especially crucial for youngsters and children. So - many cudos to all the teachers and school staff who are there for the future generation of grown ups every day! #leadership
