Gail K. Boudreaux I'm so proud of our whole person approach to health care for both the patients and care providers. Physical, behavioral and mental health are inextricably intertwined. Applying the lessons learned from care providers COVID conditions continues. For the last eight years, from a personal and career vantage point, I've seen how chronic conditions can abated and improved with a whole person health approach. As someone who has stepped into "sandwich generation" care, the impact of this approach decreases the burden on the patient's family and friends in the caregiver role as well.

Why #WeAreElevanceHealth matters: April was a tough month for me... my childhood BFF succumbed to metastasized cancer. My team members buoyed me. It's harder to create friendships as an adult in a post-COVID world. Where you work matters. I'm fortunate to be an associate at a year-over-year "100 Best Companies to Work For" award winner. Our workplace culture supports the values which fosters the connections leading to friendships.

2,100 dedicated health professionals gathered in Portland, OR for the Military Health System Conference - The Future of Military Medicine. The conference was a first in 12 years and served up intensive learning on how to deliver integrated, innovative, and ready medical services to 6.9 million military beneficiaries. In addition to the conference sessions, attendees had the opportunity to give back by donating blood to the Armed Services Blood Program. The event collected over 250 pints of blood, thanks in part to the inspiring leadership of Master of Ceremonies, COL Kathy Spangler. Her passion was so contagious that even those with a needle phobia, like me, were able to overcome it and contribute to the cause.
