SUSTAINABILTY AND REDUCTION OF INEQUALITIES Two big topics that must be addressed globally across various fields. Wether it’s #academia, #business, #production, #civilsociety, #services, or any other branch you can think of, it’s of vital importance to contribute to a #systemicchange, if we are to preserve our level of #welfare. Here in Czechia together with Kokoza we are currently working on of of the priority areas defined by ACCTING — exchange platform between actors involved with #communitygardens or #agrifood systems, improving visibility, access, connections and exchanging #bestpractices in the field of sustainable and inclusive #urbanagriculture Why is this important? 🌍 Sustainabilty: growth of consumption and production created our world of #welfare we live in. However, we need to reassess our way of thinking, as this wealth is not here with us just for granted. It’s got its cost. Throuhout our history, our planet has been bearing these costs. If one takes a look at the global historic production-consumption curve and their impact on our ecosystem, one shall ask a simple question: what can I do to do less harm for our planet? 🤝 Connectivity: through synergies between various actors at all levels it is possible to accelerate the transfer of knowledge and create new pathways for implementation of intersectional innovations. Our progress is based on the exchange of ideas and knowledge. Today it became easy to find connection dots and create #innovativesolutions that will advance us forward. At the end of the day, thanks to this we have this comfort around us. 💪🏼Empowerment of #vulnerablecommunities: exclusion is the worst possible state that might emerge. Not only it limits the number of ideas, it holds us back from the genuine #progress. Inclusivity and support of the people who were less fortunate to participate in economic activities due to range of reasons will artificially segregate our society and lead to more tensions, which might erupt and disrupt our fragile world. 🚀 Collective and individual action: embracing the #bottomup approach for a systemic change generates and promotes local knowledge and ideas on communal level represents a meaningful contribution to global strategies and policies, such as the #Agenda2030 and many more. Yet, these are not just abstract documents. There are people and ideas behind them. And all of us, in one way or another, share a certain degree of ownership there. ♻️Contribution to #biodiversity: it is not possible to ignore the effects of the #climatechange anymore. Unless the decisive action is undertaken not only at the level of international system, but at the level of cities municipalities, communities and individuals, we might face greater challenges and it is unclear if we as a mankind will be able to tackle them. Just returned from the Antwerp Toastmasters District conference, and it has been amazing! I had a very small but a truly gleeful part this year: the gala dinner host. All I had to do was make the party happen, set the tone, and make people laugh—all so easy! I confess, I loved every minute of it. I know I look serious in the picture, but trust me I am funny (sometimes) Apart from the gala, while taking in the brilliance of great speeches and superb workshops, I was making notes on the small things being done at the conference. This gave focus to some of the best speakers I have seen in action. I was driven to understand what made these speeches and workshops 5-star performances. These 5 stars were seen in the keynote by Cyril Junior Dim, WCPS, and the workshops by Natascha Jacobsz, Lars Sudmann, and Irina Musuc. Here are three lessons that I will incorporate based on them in my own speeches and workshops: 1. Simple yet Not Standard: This was most special for me. Steps, ideas, and ways shared by these speakers were such which one could easily understand but were weren't standard, they were thoughtprovoking. They made us think, reflect, and analyze before doing anything. This thoughtful approach took the content into a different plane. 2. Be a Giver, Not the Seller. Because they have all shared their knowledge with, as they say, absolutely no strings attached, their major purpose was to help us learn and grow. That attitude, more than anything else, mattered a lot. 3. Affability Factor: These speakers were so affable, and each question was answered frankly. Even after the sessions, they were so down-to-earth and approachable. As Natascha Jacobsz said in her workshop: 'We need to like the speaker first', and they certainly made this so easy because, as a result, these lessons are invaluable. I can't wait to try them out in my own future talks and workshops to be able to deliver the same five-star experience to my audience.

These are the three topics that you can propose Pre-Congress Workshop about. Choose one and submit your idea via this form: https://bit.ly/3QJZvtd 💡 What is important to have in mind? - The workshop can be half a day, 1 or 2 days long. The events will take place on 5 June (0.5-day or 1-day workshop) or 4-5 June (in case of a 2-day workshop). - SIETAR Europa's partner, IESEG in Lille, will provide rooms free of charge for the Pre-congress workshops. The workshop providers will have to cover the remaining costs related to the running of the workshop. SIETAR Europa will support the registration process as part of the registration process for the main congress. - You may charge a participation fee for your workshop. If you do not wish to charge a fee, be aware that you will have to cover the costs of coffee breaks and materials yourself. The profit from your workshop (i.e. the amount paid by participants for the participation fee minus the cost of coffee breaks and any materials you may request) will be split 75/25 between you as the workshop organizer (75%) and SIETAR Europa (25%).

3 learnings from attending the SIETAR Europa congress: 🎢 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱: diving deeper into topics of my preference was fun, but my favourite sessions were those on topics I had little to no knowledge about because I was able to uncover my blind spots (i.e. areas of learning). 🔍 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆: someone in the field may share their thoughts or jokes confidently, but that doesn't mean I have to automatically agree. Critically reflecting on comments and situations strengthened my confidence in forming my own opinion. 🎇 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹: having the opportunity to connect with people that I might have never met in my everyday life was a game-changer to exchange views, reflect on sessions, and thereby keep learning.
