While the wishlist of residents may not have changed drastically, with wanting prime locations, lower rent prices, and open concept floorplans, there are several new emerging factors in deciding their next move. In addition to the standard list, residents are also wanting lasting amenities such as work-from-home spaces, trails and parks, and amenities for pets like spas and off-leash areas. Mainly, areas that are not used for one function. Specialized programs and pampering services like places to walk and eat, several workout areas like yoga studios and a gym, and concierge-style services. These can range from crafting rooms to podcast studios, and resident-focused events that bring neighbors together. This new wave of renters are looking for sustainability in their homes while trying to conserve energy use, and materials sources ethically. Predictions for builders to accommodate this in the future expect a more attentive approach to better indoor air quality, energy retrofits, carbon tracking, and enhanced noise attenuation. Finally, and one of the most important, attentive teams.
