Fed holds on interest rate hike, leaves rate unchanged for now, but indicates one more hike is likely this year. While not quite the silver lining the market was hoping for, it is a nice picture my wife took from our home last week.

Starting over again can be challenging. I have spoken with a number of people who are struggling to re-start their careers.   While everyone’s situation is different, if you can afford to take your time and think about your next move, I suggest you do it.   The following is some advice others have shared with me that I have found helpful.   1) Don’t assume you can only do one thing.   2) Ask your colleagues for support:   - Write a recommendation for you to add to your LinkedIn Profile   - Review your resume and provide feedback.     - You may also want to consider engaging a professional service.   - If they have moved on to other organizations, ask if they are hiring   Some firms pay a referral bonus, so there maybe incentives for them   3) Take a course and get certified.   4) If you have not gone on interviews in a while, practice. - There are a number of web sites and videos that can assist you with this.   5) Get inspired.  If you haven't seen it, check out the movie, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty It's an uplifting story that takes place in the backdrop of a company that is downsizing. Sound familiar?   6) Make progress every day, but don't let it consume you.   Personally, I find gaining altitude helps me find happiness and perspective.   The Picture is me flying in an Ultralight over the Manhattan Beach Pier.

Over the course of my career, I have implemented technology solutions in 6 of the 7 Continents . . . only Antarctica has eluded me, at least so far. I have worked in almost every industry (e.g., Banking & Finance, Insurance, Healthcare, Energy, etc.), and have looked at every new opportunity as a chance to learn and a new adventure. After 10 years with Intellective, last Friday was my final day. I was fortunate to have worked with some great people along the way and shared many great experiences working in Professional Services, Architecture and Presales. Friends and colleagues have started to ask the question, What is next for me? While it is too soon to tell, one thing is for sure, I am looking forward to my next adventure.
