It's National Apprenticeship Week! We have a number of apprentices in different departments at Penny Hydraulics and take pride in supporting them throughout their education. This week, we want to celebrate our apprentices from past and present! Jack Miles is our Aftersales Manager, but did you know he started out as an Engineering Apprentice? When asked about his experience as an apprentice at Penny Hydraulics, Jack quoted: "I was given opportunities across multiple departments which gave me not only a wide-ranging understanding of the products that we sell, but I had more of an understanding of engineering as a whole." His growth in the company increased once he completed his apprenticeship, gaining skills to help with the day-to-day operations at Penny Hydraulics, as well as allowing him to assist in some more complicated projects at sites across the UK and even abroad. Why choose to do an apprenticeship? Jack enthused: "You can still gain higher level qualifications but you can do so while earning money, growing your skillset and gaining on the job experience." "University does not have to be the be all end all if you want to become an engineer." If you want to enquire about an apprenticeship with Penny Hydraulics, contact us on 01246 811475 or email sales@pennyhydraulics.com!
