Posting is easy but… A personal brand that reverberates your identity is tough. ➡️ Writing content doesn’t take time. But making strategic copy that gets results takes hours. ➡️ Engagement is not a priority. But building a close-knit community with a tone that replicates your own is. ➡️ Outsourcing your social media is not expensive. But hiring a professional marketer that works on the best approach towards you comes at a price. But in the longer run - one becomes a spill, while the other is an investment. #personalbranding #socialmediamanager

I wonder whether, in addition to refocusing back on creativity and ideas, there’s an opportunity to pitch on potential results: being bold enough to say ‘we believe our idea can bring incremental x value/revenue/new customers/profit/insert business metric here’. This indeed may require thought given to media/distribution strategy to complement the big idea, understanding of their historical marketing performance to project incrementality from, and an understanding of the financial drivers of the client’s business (ARPU, CLTV, churn rates, CAC, etc etc etc) - but it could be a powerful business-oriented linkage between business challenge - creative idea - potential incremental business outcome. It also has the added benefit of contextualising how many multiples of ROI the potential fee will generate :) Thanks for the share Alex, really interesting and personally top-of-mind read.

I got a question...Please feel free to share with your network as I welcome all opinions My goal is to eventually sign with a few agencies on a retainer basis that is ofcourse the dream. I want to create content that creates a positive impact for brands and businesses to spread their message/purpose or insight growth and awareness. But I know these things take time. So my question is what steps would you take towards this goal ?

My best piece of advice for budding Creative Strategists? Become a critic of every ad you see. Newsfeed, bus stop, train, billboard... If you see it, critique it! What do you like? What don't you like? What did it make you feel? Are you compelled to take action? Why? I do this regularly, and I'm constantly saving ads that I love, or hate so that I can refer back to them! ----------------- If you want to critique ads with me that have caught my attention...
