What I really like about the American Airlines Recognition Program is that you can recognize any employee throughout the AA network for going above and beyond. Recognition- particularly in our training programs— is really integral to empowering self-confidence and inclusivity in our teams and, consequently, in the strategic pull-through of critical business initiatives. We don’t recognize one another enough in our organizations! The saddest aspect of the QANTAS saga, is the extent to which the Board and Alan Joyce have let down their staff. As a customer we must feel let down, but lets not forget all those QANTAS staff that put in the hard yards just to watch their leaders maximise their profits and their bonuses at their and others expense. QANTAS is not alone of course as there are many example of companies letting down customers, employees and the communities in which they operate. You would like to think someone will be held accountable at the CEO or Board level where the rot begins. The reality though is different - apart from dented egos and the loss of their roles, they walk away after plundering the companies profits. All the while the troops on the ground have to deal with the mess left behind, complaining customers and regulators trying to find someone to blame. As a QANTAS customer, and lifetime Gold member, I’d like to request Richard Goyder and the rest of the QANTAS Board, to step down and save everyone the agony of your futile efforts to justify your incompetence. #QANTAS #LEADERSHIP #CULTURE
