What an end of the month that I have had in August - in the picture-esque city of Copenhagen 🇩🇰. This is the first ever foreign sporting excursion that I have experienced in my life (excluding UK and Singapore), and from a badminton perspective, the stage doesn't get much bigger than this - the World Championships (the highest level of tournament that I have been to till this date), and one priceless experience that I can take many positives away from. Although from an fan experience perspective, there wasn't many standout moments I can pick out from Denmark (especially when conparing to other events I have been to in the past), this could be me indirectly prioritising my professionalism on the field - especially with my ever-growing YouTube (or even social media) community, as well as being a successful on-field sports journalist going to events on a regular basis. That being said however, I have been doing YouTube for the last 17 months, and time-and-time again I have said that going to these Championships in Copenhagen is a longtime channel bucketlist item for me, and I am glad that this goal has been achieved. Some of the things that I have successfully achieved from this event is that I further consolidated my prescence within the inner sanctrum of the badminton community, especially to other teams outside of the Malaysian badminton players. In my opinion, this is an important skill to have as this will open the door on having more sources that I can use, allowing me to create more rounded pieces, as well as being able to tailor my work towards different markets. Finally as we begin the month of September, it is now just a matter of weeks before university re-start, I will be aiming to use the experience that I have gained over the summer to my advantage, especially for the Final Year of my university degree. #Badminton #Sport #onfield #BWC2023 #BWFWorldChampionships2023 #Copenhagen #Denmark #journalism #live

Do you have the 🥎 to do what you wanna do ... ?? This pic is a good illustration of my current state of mind. I've been hitting, throwing, buying, collecting, shooting, customizing, following so many balls over the years. As well as i've seen so many people having or not having, hitting or missing the ball(s) at some crucial moments. Balls, balls, balls ... Tennis, Tennis, Tennis ... and now Padel, Padel, Padel ... So as I look here seating on the Stage Director's chair, i'm full of questions and ambitions. I love story making and telling, managing people and talents, working hard and creating until you make the crowd happy and inspired. Been doing a lot on and off the tennis court since 2006 with some great milestones like #ispacademy in 2011, #mouratoglouacademy in 2016, #rafanadalacademykuwait in 2018, #frenchtouchacademy in 2020, #belapadelcenter in 2022. But my journey has changed and like millions of people #padel entered in my life. So what? I've witnessed and participated in many changes in the tennis industry from leisure to competition, from clubs to academies, from kids to adults and pros. Always, yes always, trying to bring my marketing expertise, my commitment to innovation and most importantly to understand and meet players and families expectations. That has been #myjourney. And let's be fair I've always met and found strong people on the way. Charles, Patrick, Mohammed, Rafa, Bela, and many others ... so lucky I am! 🙏 After 18 months diving deep into the trendy Padel industry, time has come for me to set new goals and bring my very best for the good of Padel, a sport I love, a sport that has unlimited potential. Some much to do, so much to create, a real ground of innovation. Ready I am. I have the ideas, i have the plan. Let's pick and convince the people i wanna have around me. Let's just have the b🥎lls!

🏆 Insights on Icelandic National Badminton Championship 🏆 Reflecting on my experience at the Icelandic Nationals 2024, I realized how much the mental game shapes performance on the badminton courts. Watching the competition, I saw firsthand the power of confidence, focus, and emotional intelligence. In the women's singles, the importance of confidence became clear. Players who found themselves trailing often mounted incredible comebacks, demonstrating remarkable perseverance. Their body language reflected this resilience—they walked tall, kept their shoulders back, and maintained eye contact. These subtle cues of self-assurance proved crucial under pressure, turning potential defeats into stunning victories. The men's singles competition highlighted the significance of controlling the rally and staying focused. Often, the first few shots determined who would take control of the match. Those who could remain calm and execute their game plan, even in high-pressure situations, stood out among the winners. An intriguing aspect of the sport was the ability to read players' emotions through their facial expressions. A furrowed brow or clenched jaw could indicate that a player was under stress. These subtle signs gave opponents a way to gauge each other's emotional state and adjust their strategy accordingly. This level of emotional intelligence, combined with the ability to manage one's emotions, can significantly influence the outcome of a match. For Icelandic badminton to advance, players should focus on controlling the pace of rallies and maintaining composure under pressure. The capacity to set the tempo can disrupt an opponent's game plan, allowing players to seize the initiative. This requires not only varying shot speed and placement but also using deceptive tactics to keep opponents guessing. Staying calm under pressure is just as crucial, demanding consistent practice in high-intensity scenarios, mental conditioning, and effective stress-management techniques. Overall, my experience at the Icelandic Nationals 2024 underscored the importance of sports psychology in badminton. 🧠 Mental strength, 🎯 focus, and confidence 💪 are the foundation of a winning attitude. @badmintoniceland #SportsPsychology #Iceland #Badminton #MentalGame

European Para Championships secures TikTok media partnership for inaugural edition. Read the full article on our website here https://lnkd.in/e3-Har9X Preparations for the inaugural European Para Championships (EPC) in Rotterdam have been boosted by securing the social media app TikTok as media partner. This is set to provide content including behind-the-scenes moments, highlights and athlete reactions from the EPC on the platform using the #EPC2023 hashtag. The Opening Ceremony is also set to be streamed live on TikTok in what has been billed as a first for Para sport as well as several finals. A workshop is also due to take place before the EPC for athletes and Federations to support them with the creation of content during the multi-sport event. EPC tournament director Jeroen Straathof claimed the partnership with TikTok would "give Para sports a stage with an incredibly large reach within an engaging community", and believes it will add to the popularity of the Championships. "We can plant a seed in the minds of the sports fans of the future," he said. "As an official media partner, TikTok will maximally support all content around #EPC2023 and give us more visibility on the platform. "Also, the fact that several finals can be seen live through the platform is unique in Para sport, which we are proud of. "TikTok's general manager of operations for France, Benelux and Southern Europe Marlène Masure hailed the partnership with the EPC. "By giving fans an unique access to their favourite athletes and sports, TikTok has quickly become a go-to destination for sports content," Masure said. "As we celebrate one of the Para sports events of the year, we're excited to be working with the European Para Championships to bring dedicated content from the event in Rotterdam to our sports community, giving them a front row seat to all the action." The Olympic program has come a long way since its inception in 1896. Croquet and tug-of-war were once Olympic sports, with croquet making its only appearance in 1900 and tug-of-war returning five more times until 1920. As the world changes, so does the Olympic program. This year, two sports make their Olympic debuts, while several others are making a comeback. Host countries can now nominate one-off events that "enhance the popularity of the Games," ensuring that the program remains fresh and exciting. Celebrate the diversity and evolution of the Olympic program, and keep cheering on your favorite athletes as they strive to be faster, higher, stronger, and yes, even floatier.🏅🌊 #olympics #newsport #oldsport #staypositive #happylaw
