In honor of Juneteenth, R&H's DEI committee celebrated by diving into the rich history of Black cowboy culture and legacy in country music. Along with resources on the history of this holiday, team members were given two raffle options to choose from: either tickets to the sold out Eight Seconds Juneteenth Rodeo at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum or a vinyl copy of Beyonce's "Cowboy Carter" album. Eight lucky winners took home prizes and had a blast turning education into celebration! 🤠 #juneteenth

The Lake View Taphouse is now open in Lake Oswego! Tucked within the lively mixed-use development Lake View Village, the Taphouse offers guests an open, light and casual dining atmosphere within 5,000 s.f. An outdoor patio area highlights views of the adjacent lake and Millennium Plaza Park, while indoors features a dining room, bar and private events space. The project has great history for our team as R&H served as general contractor for the original Lake View Village project in 2004, constructing six commercial buildings surrounding a 4-story parking structure. With 1,000 solar panels, a CO2 sensor system, rainwater cistern and more, Toyota of Corvallis continues to shine as an example of what's possible in sustainable design for automotive dealerships. Built by R&H and designed by Gensler, Toyota of Corvallis achieved LEED Platinum certification and was the world’s first Net-Zero car dealership. For the story behind the build, and how our team navigated the building process for this ground-up dealership, visit R&H's blog at https://lnkd.in/g6KkijSb

During May's Mental Health Awareness Month, R&H took important steps to prioritize the well-being of our team. Each morning, our office-based team members participated in daily stretch & flex activities – the norm for our craftsworkers and trade partners - to start the day with a ready body and focused mind. R&H also hosted a series of engaging presentations from the Construction Suicide Prevention Partnership, both in our offices and on jobsites in Portland and Central Oregon. We also distributed mental health resources posters to hang at R&H jobsites statewide. We hope to keep the conversation going throughout the year, as we challenge the stigma of seeking mental health care in our industry! #mentalhealthawarenessmonth

R&H celebrated Pride Month with a sweet treat! Our client Sparrow Bakery is an LGBTQ-owned business and has bakeries in Portland and Bend, making them a perfect partner for our Pride Month festivities. This week, R&H team members received delicious Pride-themed cookies accompanied by Pride Month history cards. All R&H jobsites received a special "You Are Welcome Here" sticker and learning resources to share with craftsworkers onsite. We're proud to support LGBTQ-owned businesses and create a safe, inclusive environment for all. Happy Pride!

Celebrating the start of an impactful project! Last Friday commemorated the official start of construction for Washington County’s new Center for Addictions Triage and Treatment (CATT). R&H is honored to serve as general contractor on this meaningful project, partnering with Native American-owned general contractor, Advanced Tribal and architect Holst Architecture The CATT project is a split campus model, providing a full continuum of treatment and care services within two separate buildings. The Community Services Building is located in Hillsboro and will provide a variety of outpatient services within an existing building that is undergoing a complete renovation. The Intensive Services Building will include residential treatment, sobering, withdrawal management and transition support with a total of 86 beds. This project entails the renovation of an existing commercial building along with a 16,000 s.f. building addition. By more than doubling the county’s current number of residential treatment beds and adding sobering beds, the CATT project is making critical headway in supporting those in need with a path to healing and recovery.
