People Experience & Culture Leader // Building empowered teams and personalization at scale with a healthy dose of empathy
🤔 We've recently been reworking a number of "moments that matter", including onboarding and leaves. And there's something I keep thinking about: what about all the other less-momentous happenings that make up a majority of the #PeopleExperience? Those small, routine daily experiences risk being too easily overlooked in favor of key moments and milestones. In reality, our everyday interactions, support, and the subtle nuances of our workplace environment play an equally vital role in shaping the overall People experience. The ideal is a balanced approach that fosters a stable, supportive environment while also creating moments that delight, surprise, and inspire. This also reflects what I'm typically hearing from the team—PX lives in the daily check-ins, the modest, often organic team rituals, the recognition of small wins, and reliable support in all matters. As my colleague Chris Weber recently put it, what we're looking for is the "pulse" of the company. That pulse is what shapes a truly engaging and fulfilling #WorkCulture. 💓 ❓My question to all employees: What daily experiences or small gestures make the biggest difference in your workday? I'd venture to guess that many of these are driven outside of #PeopleOps. 💬 To other POps professionals: How are you balancing the routine with the remarkable in your organizations? And how are you empowering other company leaders to contribute to those goals?
"The challenge has always been, what is really employee experience?" says Joris Luijke (He/Him). "I think the journey map as a concept, moments that matter and managing those moments that matter well is really what encapsulates employee experience for me at least, which is fantastic because it defines that role a lot more."
