Not Delhi, Not Mumbai. This new airline choose Goa as it's base!
With 2 airports handling 10M+ passengers/year, Goa handles the 9th highest air traffic in India.
Fly91.in has already done it's inaugural flight from Manohar International Airport (GOX) to Lakshadweep today.
They want to enhance air connectivity across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
From 18th March, the airline will be connecting Goa, Agatti (Lakshadweep), Jalgaon, Sindhudurg, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
In the next 5 years, they plan to have 35 planes and connect 50 cities!
The routes have been awarded under the government’s regional connectivity scheme.
Thus they will get subsidies in exchange for offering half of its seating capacity at a discounted fare. ₹2,500 per hour of flight!
Best part, it's relatively much cheaper to run operations in Goa.
This will definitely help as it's so difficult to make an airline profitable.
