The CEO of Airindia Limited #campbellwilson has admitted that the gap between Airindia Limited and Vistara - TATA SIA Airlines Ltd. in terms of product, technology and level of service remains wide. Unmistakably, Vistara - TATA SIA Airlines Ltd. is the superior product and till Air India matches Vistara in quality, the two brands will remain separate. In an interview to a TV channel, Wilson said "We've said that the future airline will probably be called Air India. But we won't be merging Vistara and Air India until such time that we feel that Air India has reached the level that Vistara is at. With Vistara as part of the family, there's a lot we can learn from... I think part of the reason that Vistara has been successful is a very young airline that was built on latest technology, had new aircraft. And these are things that Air India will have in due course too. So it's inevitable, in my view, and we will not stop until Air India reaches at least Vistara's level." Wilson's remarks would likely get a loud cheer from Vistara - TATA SIA Airlines Ltd. employees, many of whom have privately expressed deep apprehensions against the proposed merger with Airindia Limited. precisely due to the widely different product and service offerings. The #smallairport at #Jamnagar in Gujrat catered to over 400 charter flights in just four days transporting over 2,000 prominent figures and global magnates. Typically, Jamnagar airport saw just six arrivals daily. However, the #airportauthorities prepped for over two months for this special #event by renovating its #civil and #electrical facilities and enhancing the departure area space to accommodate the record volume of #traffic.  Obviously due to #parkingspace crunch at Jamnagar airport, the #charterplanes were parked at #Rajkot, #Porbandar, #Ahmedabad, and #Mumbai Prior to the event, Jamnagar airport handled 140 #charterflightmovements with 70 departures plus 70 arrivals with about 50% of the planes coming from abroad. Post event, the airport handled over 100 #flightmovements with all the #VVIPs returning to their homeland. Not Delhi, Not Mumbai. This new airline choose Goa as it's base! With 2 airports handling 10M+ passengers/year, Goa handles the 9th highest air traffic in India. Fly91.in has already done it's inaugural flight from Manohar International Airport (GOX) to Lakshadweep today. They want to enhance air connectivity across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. From 18th March, the airline will be connecting Goa, Agatti (Lakshadweep), Jalgaon, Sindhudurg, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. In the next 5 years, they plan to have 35 planes and connect 50 cities! The routes have been awarded under the government’s regional connectivity scheme. Thus they will get subsidies in exchange for offering half of its seating capacity at a discounted fare. ₹2,500 per hour of flight! Best part, it's relatively much cheaper to run operations in Goa.
