Yup, they're doing much more than just setting up the WiFi. Philip Wicker, Senior Network Engineer, explores how important the role of an IT department is when it comes to the green flag on race day. With the advances in data and analytics, today's NASCAR team requires an IT Department than can monitor controlled chaos - if you will - of constant digital information in an effort to provide their team with all of the data necessary to make the right decisions for performance. With how fast things move in racing, the loss of this information stream can put a team greatly behind in a hurry.

Amazing tech for race teams RFK Racing . Dylan Gordon and I got a chance to see it this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway. It was mesmerizing to see that data flowing. PURE Precision deals with IIoT data from the manufacturing industry, machine and process monitoring and it was so cool to see it streaming live from a race car doing 170mph!
