Star-spangled for the streets 🌟
Chris Buescher will have a special look on his Fastenal Ford for this weekend's Chicago Street Race. Watch it all unfold Sunday, July 7th at 4:30PM ET on NBC.
I've already pointed out a few days ago several times that Boris knows exactly what he's doing when he sails alone. For us skippers, it's like being on land, we sit in a car and can steer it briefly, and sometimes the view on the tracker is deceiving; it simply doesn't provide all the information, especially regarding autistic, strategic, future-proofing, from which you can't deduce. Two days ago, one might have wondered what he was doing, but last night it suddenly became clear why he was doing it. Anything else would have been fatal.
There's a wind system within the wind system; these are playing fields that you have to get everything straightened out on first, and then make the decision for yourself, and of course, do it all alone, which he does superbly.
There are also playing fields that are very small, and you just have to navigate them with sails.
Sometimes you have to make strategic decisions that you can't or don't want to explain. Boris has done that wonderfully. He naturally consulted with 2-3 extremely good personal friends, advisors, and weather experts before his journey and exchanged ideas, and he did this a week before every day to get into the rhythm, i.e., you need at least one extremely experienced routing and weather expert to advise you and form your opinion, and then there are various scenarios. Therefore, I think he's doing damn well. You can simply tell that he's an experienced sailor. He has a fantastic boat, on which all the critics who complained about how slow Alicia always is, but Malizia is so up-to-date and in fashion that I don't want to hear it anymore, and I'm starting to get angry when such critics come. That has to stop now. He's doing a great job, and people should just let him do it and respect him. This is also a sport, not just driving a car, turning left or right. He does everything alone, sail changes, decisions, navigation - he does it all first-class. I can only say, the right mix of sovereignty, overview, and then finally his famous "Push, Push, Push" when necessary and when it fits.

As the 150th Kentucky Derby quickly approaches, how do you plan to celebrate the Run for the Roses 🐎 🌹 without putting your recovery, or the recovery of a loved on, at risk? Here are a few tips ⬇️
1. Plan ahead.
2. Avoid being alone.
3. Spend quality time with a group of sober friends.
4. Host your own Derby party.
5. Get crafty and enjoy a Derby mocktail.
6. Make short appearances and drive yourself.
7. Keep it simple and don’t stress too much about what everyone else is doing.
It appears my comment was deleted twice from the below post - so thought I'd share it here. Venue owners should listen as well as amplify; that's how we improve, take stock and evolve.
The comment:
The gig was great - no doubt. Foo's rocked! 🤘🎆 But there was a severe lack of operational efficiency at the gig venue. Examples:
The bars were the worst I've experienced - no hyperbole. This is 2024, but multiple 40+ people queues across the stadium, concourses and on the pitch/standing area with dithering staff and stock issues.
Then, the grim sight of single-use plastic cups covering the stadium floor (and I'm sure, the stadia seats) - fans kicking through rivers of clear plastic cups to get to exit points. Again, this is 2024 and there are many other sustainable options.
Then the misery and danger of trying to get back to Stratford station from the stadium.
If you missed the end of the gig, you might have stood a chance. If you stayed to the end like we did, it was a 2-hour kettling-session with little security and no policing. Appalling and at many times dangerous.
I appreciate the hubris Graham Gilmore, but your team would benefit from an overhaul in operational efficiency. In almost 25 years of producing global events this was one of the worst operations I've witnessed as a fan.
I'd be v happy to talk about solutions or strategic tactics over a cuppa if you do plan for London Stadium to hit London 2012 heights again, and be heralded for operational excellence as a viable international venue on the global circuit.
Because again, Foo Fighters will have loved the atmosphere and the ticket sales - but every fan will feel let down by the venue.

The Worlds Stage rocked again . London Stadium we showed the world why we are simply the best at what we do. Foo Fighters have to be the best rock band in the world . Incredible 2 nights with 3 hour set both nights … Stratford rocked last week .
