Anyone who knows me knows that balance isn't my strong suit. I even have a balance board in my garage to practice balancing for hiking, running, and walking in general. (As an aside, I highly recommend the ER doctor at Cape Cod Hospital should you ever need stitches. How I can make such a recommendation is a story for another day.) While physical balance is hard for me, in my experience, work/life balance is unrealistic, except in short (nanosecond-short) increments. I much prefer the term work/life rhythm...much more realistic and less stressful! Setting boundaries at work, home, and with the loved one you care for is essential to establishing a work/life rhythm when you’re a business-owning family caregiver.
